Led by an experienced artist, you'll learn to use an array of coloured pencil techniques to capture the essence of your subject, down to the very fine details like wrinkles, freckles and hair. You'll pick up some valuable tips on how to avoid cartoonish looks, how to capture a diverse array of skin tones and types and how to fix any little mistakes you may make.
During the course, you'll learn:
- How to blend and render coloured pencils.
- How to apply coloured pencils for professional results.
- How to draw human skin, hair and many other super-realistic textures.
- How to draw a portrait accurately.
Your friendly, knowledgeable teacher will be on hand throughout the course to share the benefits of her experience, culminating in a set of coloured pencil portraits you can bring home with you and display with pride, or add to your portfolio as proof of your newfound skills.

I'm Prerna Thani
I have a Master's degree in Business and a diploma in Fine Art. My passion in the art of painting from childhood caused that I learn designing, painting and the technique of oil paint in adolescence. I have started charcoal technique (How to work with black pencil) seriously and professionally from 2015 and it caused that I get a little experience about colored pencil and colored ballpoint pen technique. My favorite styles are Realism and Hyper realism and I've created my artworks with charcoal by paying attention to these two styles. The result of the artistic activity of the past few years, is the participation in several group and individual exhibitions in 2016.
These experiences have given me a strong understanding of effective course planning, evaluation of student outcomes and assessments, development of effective units of inquiry, and teaching a wide range of age levels and abilities. Creativity is an essential skill in a world where innovation is increasingly putting companies at a competitive advantage. I find it a privilege and pleasure to work creatively with the next generation.
