Whether you're a florist, designer, chef or photographer, colour is often the foundation of our practice and creativity. It has a profound impact on how we feel and connect to our work.

At the colour theory class, you'll learn that colour is not just about vivid brights and the rainbow! It’s about subtleties and observation, clarity and saturation. With this colour theory workshop, you'll gain an understanding that colour is everywhere and is constantly being absorbed by our subconscious, both physically and energetically.

Once you have this understanding of colour, it will hugely benefit your work and mindset, enabling you to connect to your practice, subject matter and the world around you, whilst evoking feelings and emotions in others!

Don't worry if you're new to colour theory, this fun and friendly class welcomes designers from all walks of life who want to learn and discover a new approach.

The course will cover:

  • Practical and theory.
  • The science of colour.
  • Psychology and holistic use of colour.
  • Colour pallets and combinations.
  • Exploring process and mark-making with colour.

At the end of this class, you'll have some newfound colour knowledge under your belt and a whole new mindset and approach to creative design!

For established artists and creatives, designers or any colour enthusiasts looking to develop their practice, diversify or are in search of a deeper meaning within their practice!
 
What you'll get
  • Plenty of tea and homemade cake.
  • You will be given a colour wheel, canvas to work on (which you can take home).
  • All other materials will be provided.

Lucy works holistically and creatively with colour on many levels to inspire a more conscious lifestyle.

Colour links Lucy’s Passions together~ The natural world, simple living, working with reclaimed materials, global travel and colour, using all the senses!

Creativity, essential oils, colour theory and therapy, herbs…. all combined with her love of fabric and interiors

Based in Derbyshire, she works with clients from her beautiful home, garden and studio, to find the best in themselves and harness their confidence and creativity, aiming to guide and inspire with her diverse wisdom and skills in colour, design and wellness field.

Lucy has a lifelong passion for nature and the environment and an ingrained childhood love of colour, which was later reinforced and inspired by time travelling the globe, particularly Central and South America and living and working in the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean, for a number of years.

With a very creative upbringing and family values of ‘make do and mend’ Lucy was naturally led on a path of the Arts, which resulted in a Masters in Sustainable Design from the Royal College of Art, London.

Lucy has exhibited in the UK & Internationally Including New York (ICFF), London (Tent/100%Design/Grand Designs), Paris (Maison Et Objet) scene. Commissions include Liberty London, in collaboration with Grayson Perry, Kew Gardens Orangery, Colin Firth and Eco-Age, Mint London and a commissioned published book with various features in popular design publications.

A countryside girl at heart, having grown up with campfires, allotments and fields in rural Oxfordshire, the energy of London had become draining and she longed for peace and quiet and green spaces.
