Botanical Ink Workshop

Discover the beauty of ink art with this class in Trowbridge.



3 hours Class size 1 to 6     label £65

Come and start your botanical colour journey using inks extracted from plants. You’ll see the full range of possible hues and shades through mixing and modifiers.

All the inks will have been made in the studio, and your tutor will talk through the processes behind how they were created. There will be lots of knowledge sharing about this fascinating area, so prepare to be inspired.

Beginners are very welcome, and we can adapt the workshop if you have some experience and want to try something new. All materials will be provided, please bring your own apron or wear scruffy clothes in case there are any spills, etc.

This would be great if you come as an individual or as an activity for hen parties or birthday celebrations.

SILT, the Sustainable Image Lab Trowbridge SILT is a research studio for ecological image making, run by artists Anna and Alison. We hold in-person workshops for use of our facilities, public events, talks and exhibitions.

All elements of our programme relate to environmentally focused art practice. Processes and materials used and made in the workshop range from analogue photographic images developed with non-toxic plant based substance, paints, inks and dyes made using ecologically safe ingredients, textiles made with foraged or repurposed materials.
