Starry Night – You Don’t Need Skill, Just A Desire To Paint

Starry Night – a moonlit teeth cracking cold night witht the trees decked for Christmas. This full day event will be held at Westbury Arts Centre, Foxcovert Road, Shenley Wood, MK5 6AA.

The Bob Ross technique helps people produce a fully detailed beautiful painting within a very short time. It uses the wet-on-wet style of painting and a number of specially designed paints, knives, brushes to produce clouds, mountains, trees and water within minutes. These longer workshops are designed to help you produce more detailed paintings than our evening events.

As always, we provide everything that you need…… a 40cm x 80cm, or 50cm x 70cm canvas, easel, brushes, paints, aprons, music and a great atmosphere where you can create to your heart’s content.

The Bob Ross Technique

It doesn't matter in the least if you haven't picked up a paintbrush for years because you will walk away with your own unique piece of artwork. Our resident artist will take you, step-by-step, thru the process of turning your blank canvas into your own personal masterpiece. With a glass in one hand and a paintbrush (or a cotton bud) in the other, your skills will transfer painlessly to the canvas on your easel. So power up your inner Picasso and come and join us. You will creat a dramatic painting that you will be proud to hang on your wall.

The event starts at 11.00 am but arrive around 15 minutes early. Grab a seat, grab a cuppa and grab an easel. We start at 11.00, and will definitely by finished by 16.30.

Although we provide aprons, it might be worth wearing old clothes (just in case). Be warned that we will be using oil paints, and these take anything from a couple of days to a week to dry. It will be easy to take your painting home if you buy a frame. But if you don’t buy one then we have a way to protect your painting so that you can take it home.

Knowledge required
Absolutely no experience, knowledge, or skills are required at all. More than half of my attendees are first-timers. Definitely beginner friendly.

What you'll get
All materials and equipment are provided. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own completed and finished 40cm x 80cm, or similar, masterpiece to take home and hang on their wall.

Optional frames are available for £25.00.
What to bring
Themselves and a smile, hopefully a friend (or two, or three).
Old clothes. Even though we provide aprons, it would be wise to wear old clothes.
Suitable for

This class is great for a birthday or hen do.

This would also be a nice gift for her, gift for mum, anniversary gift or birthday gift.

Hi, I'm Russell and I want to show you that you can do things that you never thought you could do. When people leave one of my events for the first time, they usually cannot believe what they have just painted. My motto is "Power Up Your Inner Picasso"

I started off in construction as a Civil Engineer wirth a side- hustle as an Officer in the Territorial Army (now Army Reserves) Royal Engineers - I started in Commando Squadron, moved to Field Regiment and finished off in Bomb Disposal.

I hated art at school, but one day saw a guy turn a 50cm x 100cm black canvas into an Arctic nightscape in 30 minutes. It turns out he was (still is) a Bob Ross instructor. I followed and am now one myself.

I heard about Paint and Sip events and decided to start them myself. So here I am.
