Bespoke Hand-Dyed Silk Lampshade WorkshopCreate a unique silk lampshade inspired by your home, your favourite colours, or a palette that feels personal to you.This specialist workshop is co-taught by silk artist Miu Shu, founder of Huntly Silk Painting Studio, and professional interior designer Sadie, founder of Interior Inspirations.Bringing together two distinct areas of professional expertise, the workshop takes you through the complete creative process—from planning a personalised colour palette and hand-dyeing pure silk to constructing and carefully finishing your own lampshade.You are welcome to bring photographs of your sofa, cushions, curtains, wallpaper, artwork, or other interior details. With individual guidance, you will select two to four colours that connect with your space.The aim is not to copy your room exactly. Instead, you will create a colour palette that echoes and brings together elements already present in your home.You may also work from colours inspired by a season, landscape, memory, or mood.Miu will begin with a short, accessible introduction to practical colour relationships and palette planning. She will then guide you through hand-dyeing your own piece of pure silk, allowing the colours to move, blend, and create naturally varied effects.Once your silk has been fixed, dried, and pressed, Sadie will guide you through the lampshade-making process. You will learn how to apply your hand-dyed silk, construct the lampshade, and finish it carefully.Unlike a standard lampshade-making workshop using ready-made fabric, you will create both the decorative silk surface and the finished lampshade itself.No previous experience in art, silk dyeing, or lampshade making is required.What you will learn:
