What you'll do
Indulge in the vibrant world of patchwork quilts in this captivating sewing class in Clovelly. Discover the art of cutting, piecing, layering and quilting in this two-day course and make new friends along the way!
A friendly and experienced quilt-maker will be guiding you through this adventure. Saving old fabrics to transform them into a warm and cosy blanket is always a treat.
Throughout this sewing course, you will learn how to:
- Safely use a rotary cutter and quilting ruler.
- Select and cut your fabric.
- Machine piece your project.
- Put your quilt together.
- Baste your pieces ready for quilting.
- Use a machine to quilt.
- Bind and finish your project.
Along the way, you'll become familiar with the unique quilting jargon, gain valuable insights into the necessary equipment, and even explore simple yet impactful techniques like appliqué.
Your creativity will flourish as you work on your project, and you'll go home not only with a beautiful creation but also with comprehensive class notes to support your continued journey at home.
