Hi, I'm Claire a.k.a The Crafty Fawkes. I live in Aberdeenshire with my husband and a lot of wool. Knitting and crochet are my therapists.
My Mum taught me to knit when I was about 7 and I went from scarves to baby mitts and bonnets and then on to cabled cardigans and jumpers for myself. I then learnt to crochet more recently and my only regret is not finding it earlier. I have battled with depression and anxiety throughout my adult life and find solace in crafts.
The tactile wool, the thrill of a new project, the achievement of producing a finished product, and a way to keep my fidgety hands busy. I am passionate about sharing these crafty hobbies as a form of self care.
I hope you find it a good way to relax and be in the moment, or simply as a distraction from the chaos.
