Learn hand embroidery for beginners in this relaxing Bristol workshop with a friendly teacher from Bristol Folk House.
Discover just how creative and soothing sewing can be and learn the basics of embroidery. Over six hours, you will gain an excellent introduction to a range of hand embroidery techniques and be able to complete various designs.
Throughout this embroidery class, your teacher will introduce you to 14 helpful stitches which you can use to complete endless projects and designs. You will create a beautiful and decorative wall hanging, which will serve as a helpful reminder of each stitch you have learned and can take home with you.
Once this class is over, you will have plenty of new embroidery skills and knowledge to keep sewing at home, start editing projects and explore further embroidery techniques.
Please note:
  • The Folk House has no level access or accessible facilities.
  • You must be aged 18 or over.

The Bristol Folk House is an adult education centre providing a variety of part-time day and evening courses and workshops for over 18's. The Folk House provides a welcoming environment in which to explore your creativity and learn new skills.
We provide courses and workshops that engage the local community. The cafe provides fantastic organic food and a space to get together before and after classes. It is also open to the public and is the perfect place for those seeking a relaxed and friendly place in Bristol city centre. Live music and festivals happen throughout the year, as well as markets, events and exhibitions.
The Bristol Folk House is part of a charity and we receive no funding from the government, the city council or any other institution and our income is wholly derived from course fees, venue hire, members and fundraising events.
The centre began in the 1870's with the aim of supporting access to education in the community. The first programme of activities was produced for the academic year in 1920-1921.
