  • 5/5 from Emma Winters, attended Oct 2026: There's nothing to improve, a really relaxed class. Karen was very helpful and helped each of us when we needed it. Cups of tea and great biscuits too!
  • 5/5 from Karen Price, attended Oct 2026: Very supportive teacher who allowed each person to progress at their own level. Wonderfully inclusive atmosphere and everyone was individually challenged. I was a complete novice but was helped and supported through the beginner basics and left feeling a sense of achievement. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!
  • 5/5 from Deborah Rhodes, attended Oct 2026: At last I have learned the basics of crochet after many years of trying to learn from books. A warm welcome and friendly class. Easy to follow guidance, with one-to-one help when needed. The afternoon flew by and hopefully I have come out with the skills I need to complete a knitted baby vest with crochet pivot edging Thank you so much. Your help was greatly appreciated ️
  • 5/5 from Pat Peck, attended Oct 2026: Went along as hadn’t crocheted in around 40 years. With Karen’s gentle guidance I started to get back into the swing of things. Was a lovely small class with beginners and refresher students combined. The time went quickly and we all said we had enjoyed our session and learnt what we wanted. Highly recommend.

I live in Lincolnshire, England with my husband and two children and have a lifelong love of craft, from papercrafts to yarn and all sorts in between. I love nothing more than relaxing with my crochet and a cuppa with my family.
Before starting my crochet business in 2021, I was a primary school teacher (I have a BA Hons in Geography and Education Studies (2:1) and a PGCE). When I was made redundant, I seized the opportunity to follow my dreams and start my business. You only live once, something I’m acutely aware of having been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2019. (Thankfully I am in remission now though.)
I’m passionate about helping other people to learn and combining my teaching experience with my love of crochet brings me a great deal of joy. From beginner classes to more advanced techniques, I take care to work with my students to move their skills on, meeting them at their current level and planning appropriate next steps. I break things down into manageable chunks and adapt the pace of my sessions to the needs of students in it. I began teaching crochet 2 years ago and have taught over 30 people (many of my original students still attend my weekly class!)
As well as this, I am a crochet designer, with over 30 published patterns, including several for Crochet Now and Simply Crochet magazines. I also carry my teaching skills through to my work as a tech editor, where I support other crochet designers to polish their patterns ready for publishing. In 2025, I began working as a technical editor for Crochet Now magazine. Occasionally, I also support crochet designers by testing their patterns for them too.
When I’m not crocheting, you’ll find me either cheering on my son’s football team from the sidelines (wearing crochet of course!), gardening or doing DIY on the 1700s farm cottage which we moved into in early 2023. I’m never bored!
