Next, you'll remove the candles from the carousel -- with plenty of help on hand if you need it.

Final finishing dip

Final Finishing Dip

You'll do a final hand dip to improve the aesthetic of your candle, and then it's almost ready to take home.

Moulded candle

Moulded Candle

Take home your finished moulded candle to show off with pride, or gift to someone special!

Spend a calm, creative afternoon at Bramble Farm Bees, a family-run bee farm above Detling in the Kent Downs. Using natural beeswax from our own apiaries, you'll learn three traditional techniques: dipping tapers, rolling honeycomb sheets, and pouring moulded candles, with plenty of hands-on time and expert guidance throughout.
What you'll do:
  • Dip your own beeswax tapers.
  • Roll candles from honeycomb beeswax sheets.
  • Pour a moulded beeswax candle.
  • Learn how bees make wax and why beeswax candles burn so cleanly.
Groups are kept small (six at most), so there's time to experiment and ask questions. It's perfect for beginners and creative folk alike, and you'll head home with a set of candles you've made yourself, plus a new appreciation for the bees that made the wax.
What you'll get
Expert instruction, all materials (100% natural beeswax, wicks, and tools), refreshments, and your handmade candles to take home.
Knowledge required
Beginner-friendly.
What to bring
Just yourself!
