What you'll do
Discover a new skill and create a beautiful bangle using traditional silversmithing techniques and tools at this jewellery making class in Leighton Buzzard!
Guided by an expert teacher, you'll start by cutting out your silver with a jewellers’ saw and file it to the perfect shape before using a blowtorch and the annealing technique to soften your metal, ready for you to shape using hammers and a mandrel.
It doesn't matter if you have no idea how to make jewellery, as you'll get plenty of one-to-one support, along with opportunities to experiment with textures on copper sheet before moving on to your silver bangle.
After soldering your piece and practising on some copper, you may choose to add some texturing detail to your bangle or embrace the natural finish. Next is the cleaning and refining stage, which can be extremely satisfying for perfectionists!
Whether you're searching for unique birthday party ideas, hands-on team building activities, or gift experiences for the bling lover in your life, this jewellery making workshop will leave you with a host of new skills and a handcrafted accessory to enjoy.
Please note: the course price does not include materials, so please be mindful of this when you think about what you would be interested in making, but Sarah or Violeta can explain this to you before you start your project. Corzo & Wood sell all the materials required for your project on the day. Most students spend £25 – £120.
