2.5 hours Class size 1 to 6 guests       £85

Get a true taste of Thailand in this relaxed, hands-on cooking class in Redland, Bristol, taught by Thai chef Nuch in her welcoming cookery school. Over around two and a half hours, you'll learn to cook two classic Thai dishes from scratch – and discover just how achievable authentic Thai food can be in your own kitchen.
With no more than six people in each group, you'll get plenty of personal attention as Nuch introduces you to the fresh herbs, spices and ingredients that give Thai cooking its vibrant character. She'll show you how to prepare them properly and how to balance the four key flavours at the heart of Thai cuisine: sweet, sour, salty and spicy.
Then it's your turn at the stove. Here's what you'll get up to:
  • Learn about the essential Thai ingredients and where to find them
  • Prepare and cook two classic dishes yourself, from start to finish
  • Pick up techniques Nuch learned while training in Royal Thai Cuisine at the Blue Elephant cookery school in Phuket
  • Taste as you go and tweak the flavours to suit you
  • Take home food to enjoy later
Whether you're a complete beginner or a keen home cook ready to level up, this class is a warm, feel-good way to spend an afternoon – and a lovely experience to share with a friend or partner, or to meet new people over a shared love of food.
You'll leave well fed, happy and armed with the skills to bring the bold flavours of Thailand back to your own table again and again.

Hello, I'm Nuch, and welcome to My Thai Kitchen!
In Thailand, food is at the heart of family life, and I learned by watching, tasting and helping my Mum in our kitchen in Phang Nga long before I could see over the counter. Cooking and eating has been my passion ever since!
To take my cooking further, I completed Intensive Training in Royal Thai Cuisine at the famous Blue Elephant restaurant and cookery school in Phuket. There I learned the refined techniques and beautiful presentation of the dishes once served at the Thai royal court.
In 2013 I moved to the UK and opened My Thai Kitchen, a small cookery school in my own kitchen in Redland, Bristol. I wanted to share the real flavours of Thailand, not the watered-down versions people often find in the UK. Since then, I've welcomed guests from all over Bristol, the South West and South Wales, from complete beginners to keen home cooks.
I love teaching because I love the moment someone tastes a dish they've made themselves and can't believe how good it is. Thai cooking can look complicated, but once you understand how to balance sweet, sour, salty and spicy, it becomes simple and so much fun. Everyone leaves feeling confident to cook it again at home.
My classes are relaxed, friendly and completely hands-on. Group classes have no more than six people, so I can help everyone, and I also teach private lessons for up to six people. It's an ideal gift for birthdays, Christmas and anniversaries. I'm happy to teach vegetarian and vegan dishes and to cater for allergies. My kitchen holds the top Food Hygiene Rating of 5.
I can't wait to cook with you!
