Join us at Helm Gallery for the Thursday Night Art Club to get creative, make connections, and unwind!

Join this fun and creative art club workshop at Helm Gallery and start a new weekly art practice in the heart of Brighton. This is the perfect opportunity to mingle with fellow art enthusiasts and get creative with the materials provided in a space surrounded by contemporary art.
Whether you're an experienced creative or a complete beginner, everyone is welcome to connect and explore their artistic side. During this evening activity, you will learn about and explore mark-making, collage, and visual experimentation, with a focus on the playfulness of the creative process. It's a chance to unwind, socialise, and leave perfectionism at the door.
All art materials will be provided by Amy from Cult Milk, so all you need to do is turn up on the night. You are also welcome to bring your own sketchbook to work from, but please remember a weather-appropriate bag to take your work home.

  • This two-hour session runs from 7 pm – 9 pm, and the venue will remain open until 11 pm for you to enjoy the gallery and bar
  • Choose from a selection of 'Art Club 2-4-1' cocktails at the bar
  • The venue is wheelchair accessible with facilities on the ground level
  • You can come solo or with friends
  • Well-behaved dogs and assistance animals are welcome

I started Cult Milk in 2015 as a way of putting on events to showcase female artists. It was all about creating a supportive non-judgemental space with incredible women.

Something I passionately love about my work is the array of different people I get to meet, though no matter how lovely and successful they are in their own field of work I often hear the phrase: "I won't be any good at this because I'm not creative." There is a common misbelief that we learn at school - if you're not 'good' at drawing then you're not creative. Creativity can be found in everyone. We are born with a sense of exploration and play and it's my job to encourage people to rediscover that joy in themselves, regardless of their age.
