One-to-one painting sessions for artists who want to develop their own style and direction

This is not a traditional art lesson.

I offer one-to-one art tuition in Dorset for artists who want to move beyond technique and begin to find their own artistic voice.

If you are asking yourself “what should I paint?” or feel that your work does not yet reflect who you are, then this approach is for you.

My teaching is based on helping you discover direction, meaning and personal expression in your work. Rather than showing you how to paint in a particular way, I work with you to uncover what matters to you — your ideas, your emotions, your way of seeing.

Together we explore how to find subjects that genuinely interest you, how to use colour, shape and space to express feeling, and how to move beyond copying to develop originality and confidence in your own decisions.

This is suitable for artists who already have some experience and want to go further — to develop work that feels personal, authentic and meaningful. It is not a beginner’s class focused on basic techniques.

You can expect a thoughtful, supportive environment where your work can evolve in its own direction. If you are ready to put more of yourself into your art, I would be pleased to work with you.
