Bonjour! I’m Olivier, founder of 51 Wines, a French wine and fine food boutique based in Wellingborough. My journey with wine began long before it became my profession — growing up in France, wine wasn’t just something you drank, it was part of every meal, every story, every celebration. I’ve always been fascinated by how each bottle tells the story of its region, its terroir, and the people behind it.After many years working across international trade and business management, I decided to return to my roots — to share the authentic flavours of France with people in the UK. That’s how 51 Wines was born: a place where I could connect people not just with bottles, but with experiences, culture, and genuine craftsmanship.️ Why I love teachingWhat I love most about hosting wine tasting workshops is seeing people’s faces light up when they discover something new — the moment they identify an aroma, understand a pairing, or find “their” wine. I believe wine shouldn’t feel intimidating or exclusive; it should be joyful, social, and accessible. My goal is to make every class feel like an evening among friends — with a touch of French charm, of course!Something special about me and my craftOne thing people often find surprising is how much storytelling and sensory memory go into wine appreciation. I love weaving together anecdotes about the winemakers, the history of each appellation, and the little cultural details that make French wine so distinctive.
