On the hunt for new Edinburgh activities to try? Learn to screenprint using gold metal leaf with local artist and printmaker Lou Davis.
In this fun screen printing workshop, you’ll learn to coat, expose, print and clean silk screens and have the opportunity to create a two-layer image, with one colour layer and one where you apply metal leaf to your design.
Guided by an expert teacher, you'll create designs for screen printing, transfer your designs to a screen, print them onto paper and register your prints to make sure they print in the same place every time. You’ll also create an edition of up to ten prints and choose your favourite to frame, ready for your wall, or to give as a handmade gift.
It doesn't matter if you've never tried screenprinting before, as this workshop is suitable for beginners as well as those with a little more experience. You're sure to end the experience with a new skill and a beautiful image!
Please note:
The workshop space is on the first floor of a Georgian mews building, and unfortunately, we do not have lift access. Due to COVID-19, we have had to adapt the way we run our workshops and there may be some changes to the way it is delivered.
