Bag Making Macrame Class
Learn to macrame a unique bag at this beginner-friendly macrame class in Edinburgh.

Create a one of a kind macrame bag with the help of local artist and sculptor Lucy at this fun and beginner-friendly Edinburgh macrame class.
You will learn the basic principles and techniques of macrame, and use 100% cotton rope and a selection of coloured twines to create a hand-crafted bag. A helpful instruction manual will be provided to guide you through your project. You'll first learn to master the knots on smaller scale pieces such as keyrings and bracelets, getting used to the techniques and gaining confidence in the craft.
Once you've built up an understanding of the macrame knots, you'll then move on to designing and making your own bespoke macrame bag!
This five-hour macrame workshop allows you to gain a more thorough understanding of the knots, and for you to create ambitious and unique designs. All the knots and techniques learnt in your class will give you the confidence and knowledge to further your own macrame projects independently.
Whether you're a beginner or if you have tried macrame before, this workshop will suit you! If you'd love to learn about the art of macrame, this class is a brilliant place to begin.
By the end of your class, you'll have your own macrame bag to take home.
Please note:
The workshop space for this class is on the first-floor of a Georgian mews building and does not have lift access. If you'd like to book this workshop for a private group get-together, it can be brought to a location of your choice. Please get in touch with the teacher for more information.
