Join this improvers' lino printing workshop in Eastbourne and take your printmaking skills to the next level. If you've already tried your hand at the basics, these sessions are the perfect way to rekindle your creativity and gain some fresh, tangible techniques.
During this workshop, you'll focus on creating a multi-colour jigsaw print. You'll learn how to cut a single design into three or four distinct sections, allowing you to build up beautiful, layered effects with ease. It's a fantastic chance to experiment with colour as you mix your own inks and see your vision come to life on paper.
You're more than welcome to bring along a personal design to work with. To make things simple, you'll receive a guide beforehand to help you prepare your image – just think about how it can be broken down into a few clear shapes for cutting. If you'd prefer a low-pressure start, there will be plenty of ready-made designs available on the night for you to choose from.
Working alongside Monet, a talented local artisan and silversmith, you'll feel supported every step of the way. With her background in textiles and illustration, she'll help you navigate the more intricate parts of the process in a relaxed and social environment.
  • Create a jigsaw print – Design and cut a lino block into multiple sections for layering.
  • Mix your own inks – Experiment with a palette of colours to find your perfect shades.
  • Level up your practice – Master advanced registration and cutting techniques.
  • Small group setting – Enjoy plenty of hands-on help from an expert teacher.
You'll finish the session with a collection of one-of-a-kind prints and the confidence to tackle more complex projects at home. This experience offers a rewarding way to deepen your craft and walk away with a handmade keepsake you'll be proud to show off.
What you'll get
The prints they make in the workshop.
Knowledge required
This is an improvers' class. While you don't need to be a pro, you should have a basic understanding of lino printing. If you're a first-timer, please look out for the Beginners Lino Printing Workshop.
What to bring
  • You can bring your own design or use choose one of our designs on the night.
  • We also recommend wearing clothes you don't mind getting a bit messy; while the inks are washable, we can't guarantee they'll come out of every fabric.
