Hi, I’m Lizzie!
My obsession with the colours and textures of embroidery started 8 years ago right here in Bristol. From that first workshop, I was hooked. There is something so meditative about the process—it’s portable, tactile, and best of all, there are zero rules. Just you, a needle, and endless possibilities.
Lizzie’s Embroidery Club actually started during a bit of a tricky patch in my teaching career. I took the name from my real-life after-school clubs where I spent years nurturing young creativity. I’ve kept that same welcoming vibe: an accessible, modern space for stitching that breaks the "something your nan did" stereotype.
As a Secondary Art Teacher, I’ve seen first-hand how rewarding it is to watch someone’s imagination flourish. Now, I want to bring that same joy to you—minus the GCSE pressure!
Nature is my constant muse (I recently finished a massive A1-sized embroidered octopus! Check out my website blog or Instagram to see it!). I’m particularly drawn to florals because they are so forgiving; even if a stitch is a bit "wobbly, " it still looks beautiful.
My goal is simple: to help you dive into embroidery without the weight of perfectionism. I believe in a relaxed, supportive space where you can experiment, push boundaries, and maybe get a little messy with threads and embellishments.
I’m so thrilled to be back in Bristol and back in this vibrant creative scene. So, come as you are, leave your worries at the door, and let’s enjoy the stitch!
