Join a Hobbycraft Colleague in store for a One-to-one and ask any questions you have about Knitting. Stuck on a project? Need help with understanding a pattern? Trying to get to grips with a new stitch? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for complete beginners as well as new Knitters looking for that next step on, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need. It’s a great way to gain confidence with your craft, troubleshoot any problems you’re having with your current project in an easy, direct way or learn about stitches you’re not as confident with yet.

During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Artisan know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.

You’re sure to walk away a knitting pro, ready to take your designs to a new level!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 4/5 from Eileen Roworth, attended Mar 2025: I saw a lovely young lady but feel she didn’t have the experience I needed on this particular problem, although she did advise me of the correct way to amend my error she did have to read the pattern first whereas an experienced knitter would have known just by looking at it. I was hoping to complete it in the hour, which unfortunately there wasn’t enough time.
  • 5/5 from Jenny Johnson, attended Feb 2025: A lovely hour spent with Steph A great refresher lesson on normal stitch knitting & bring taught how to purl stitch. A very relaxed, informative, friendly time spent Thank you Steph I promise to practice when I get home
  • 5/5 from Sharon Cockley, attended Dec 2024: Had a really pleasant one to one with Stephanie really helpful and had a great personality
  • 5/5 from Zahra Khan, attended Mar 2024: Learned a lot of stitches in just an hour. Very grateful for the help I got ️
  • 5/5 from Katherine Bellew, attended Oct 2023: I have done lots of knitting over the years but never got around to trying out the technique of intarsia (working picture designs into knitwear), so I decided to get some one to one tuition as this can be quite fiddly to master. I found the lesson to be helpful and the tutor Stephanie was very patient and friendly. The only thing I found that wasn't ideal was the lack of privacy. The lesson took place at the back of the store which lead to a few short interruptions from other customers who were initially unaware that I was receiving private tuition. Overall however it was well worth the experience.
  • 4/5 from Victoria Yan, attended Oct 2023: Teacher is so nice to help me find out where my problem was, and to guide me through. So good!
  • 5/5 from Sue Dudley, attended Sep 2023: Stephanie was very patient and helpful. Enjoyed our knitting session very much. Answered all my questions
