Join a Hobbycraft Colleague in store for a One-to-one and ask any questions you have about Knitting. Stuck on a project? Need help with understanding a pattern? Trying to get to grips with a new stitch? Our craft expert will share tips and techniques tailored to you.

This is suitable for complete beginners as well as new Knitters looking for that next step on, providing the opportunity to get all the answers you need. It’s a great way to gain confidence with your craft, troubleshoot any problems you’re having with your current project in an easy, direct way or learn about stitches you’re not as confident with yet.

During the booking process, you’ll have the opportunity to let your Artisan know what you would like to focus on during the session. They’ll be able to prepare for a personalised workshop that answers all of your questions.

You’re sure to walk away a knitting pro, ready to take your designs to a new level!

Bring a friend: You can now use the £5 add-on feature at checkout to invite a friend along with you, whether you’re working on a project together or you’d simply prefer having some company during the session. Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 5/5 from Melek Kerim-Musa, attended May 2025: Penny the Artisan from Hobbycraft in Nugent Park, gave me an hour lesson with starting off knitting for beginners. It was so great. She kept me at ease and was really thorough in her explanation and friendly as well. It was a very informative workshop and I would recommend it for any one out there who gets slightly bored in the winter. It’s great to learn how to knit and have that as a skill. I am thinking of crocheting for my next sessions. Thank you Penny for a lovely session and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Mel Senior

I have not done any knitting for many years so it was brilliant to have a complete review & reminder of what to do. Thank you Penny! Was very surprised and pleased to have materials provided for the class. Venue is good, plenty of parking. Feel it is definitely value for the fee paid.
  • 5/5 from Beverley Cramb, attended Oct 2023: Penny was lovely and patient and a great teacher. She taught me different stitches from the standard knitting as even showed me a bit of crochet. She also gave us beginner kits to take home which I’m very grateful for. I’ll be back for sure!
