If you're looking for an arty activity for the kids, this t-shirt screen printing workshop for children in Macclesfield and South Manchester is the perfect choice.
Using simple hand-made stencils, your child can print their passion onto a blank, organic t-shirt with the incredible power of a silk screen. The workshop starts with fun warm-up activities to get them thinking about designs they love. Next, they will learn how to create effective stencils, before moving on to designing and careful cutting. From there, it’s all about choosing an ink colour and learning how to use the screen and squeegee to print the design.
The t-shirts will be touch-dry to take home and will serve as a long-lasting memento of your child's creativity. To make the design permanent, you'll just need to iron the back of the t-shirt for a couple of minutes at home. If you bring along another white t-shirt, they can even print their design a second time for free.
Parents are welcome to come and print too or stay to watch. There are also workstations in the studio if you want to bring a book or laptop.
This is a wonderful activity that will leave your child with a brilliant custom t-shirt and a fantastic sense of artistic achievement.

Believe it or not, print-making saved my life!
A few years ago, my life looked pretty normal: I was a Dad, a garden designer, and a keen walker. Suddenly everything changed. One day I simply couldn’t get off the sitting-room floor. I’d had a nasty bug and the next thing I knew: I was diagnosed with ME/CFS.
For a long time, things were pretty tough, but as the weeks passed, I began to discover painting and printmaking. And as the weeks turned to months I was making more and more art, and steadily feeling better.
Print-making was a refuge: a place to get better from. As I recovered my health I realised I wanted to share the magic of making things with other people; and the dream of Hope Press was born!
Everyone could do with more space in their life, more time for creativity, more peace and flow. I now run a variety of classes and workshops in printmaking – including a course for people with illnesses like mine – I hope you'll find something for you.
