Join this lino cutting class in Bollington and discover the incredible satisfaction of the 'peel and reveal' as you pull your very first print. You'll learn the essential foundations of this classic craft, from planning a striking image and safely cutting your lino block to using a professional printing press to bring your designs to life.
There's no need to be a seasoned artist to create bold and beautiful work. Whether you're inspired by botanical shapes, local landscapes, or even your favourite pets, you'll find plenty of subjects that work perfectly with this hands-on technique. It's a fantastic way to switch off and get creative with your favourite people, as the studio is a warm and welcoming space where everyone from age six and up can feel right at home.
The workshop is hosted at Hope Press, a bright and fully equipped studio located in the historic Adelphi Mill. You'll have access to high-end equipment, including etching presses, and can enjoy a cup of tea or quality coffee whenever you need a breather. You can choose to focus your energy on crafting a bespoke set of 10 greetings cards or creating a larger, one-of-a-kind design to print on premium paper.
  • Plan your design – Learn how to translate your ideas into a print-ready layout
  • Master the tools – Get comfortable using lino cutters to carve your image
  • Pull your prints – Use a professional press to transfer your work onto paper
  • Choose your project – Create either a set of 10 greetings cards or three high-quality art prints
  • Frame your work – Option to add a frame for your new masterpiece for an additional £10
You'll leave the studio with a newfound confidence in your artistic abilities and a collection of handmade treasures to show off. It's a truly heart-warming experience that will leave you feeling inspired to keep exploring your creative side.

Believe it or not, print-making saved my life!
A few years ago, my life looked pretty normal: I was a Dad, a garden designer, and a keen walker. Suddenly everything changed. One day I simply couldn’t get off the sitting-room floor. I’d had a nasty bug and the next thing I knew: I was diagnosed with ME/CFS.
For a long time, things were pretty tough, but as the weeks passed, I began to discover painting and printmaking. And as the weeks turned to months I was making more and more art, and steadily feeling better.
Print-making was a refuge: a place to get better from. As I recovered my health I realised I wanted to share the magic of making things with other people; and the dream of Hope Press was born!
Everyone could do with more space in their life, more time for creativity, more peace and flow. I now run a variety of classes and workshops in printmaking – including a course for people with illnesses like mine – I hope you'll find something for you.
