Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

My crochet-dabbler BFF and myself, a crochet novice have really enjoyed ourselves. The teacher was lovely, attentive and very encouraging. Her instructions were easy to follow and she was full of tips to help us with future projects. The kit included 2 different coloured wool and a crochet hook, with printed instructions, all in a linen tote bag. The length of the class allowed us plenty time to practice our newly learned stitches. I would happily recommend this class to any beginner.

I enjoyed my one to one class learning how to line my pinafore dress.
The lady - sorry I don’t remember her name - was very informative and clear in her instructions on how I should tackle this task.
She also helped me to read and understand a dress pattern and how to lay the pattern pieces on the material.
Thank you very much.
I would book other classes now I’ve been to this one.

Grandaughter says she enjoyed her printing class but seemed a bit bored after a short times Came away with completed canvas. Not sure full hour was required as all the children were finished within 30 minutes. Perhaps more thought should go into tools as paper/card shapes not really substantial enough for little hands when soaked with paint. Even foam shapes would be an improvement.

Hi I really enjoyed todays class and seem to gave made a great start in learning crochet. The teacher was excellent. She demonstrated the techniques really well and moved around the group to help people in trouble. She didn't ignore those doing well either. Excellent class.

Our daughter, Lucy, thoroughly enjoyed the bonnet making course. Karen, her teacher, was excellent and really encouraged Lucy throughout the session. Lucy’s bonnet looks amazing and she will be wearing it with pride at the upcoming Easter bonnet parade. The workshop offered excellent value for money and we’ll be definitely booking another workshop soon.

My friend and I wanted to try something different to our usual crafting. Our workshop was lead by Amy who was a delight, we chatted while putting our wreaths together. The kit is really nice with a good variety of dried flora in lovely pastel colours - very spring like. We got to practice our hot glue gun skills and exercised our creative muscles. The wreath is a bit smaller than expected and the some of the dried flowers can be a bit delicate and must be handled carefully. We also would have liked another 30 minutes to finish our wreaths as we run out of time. Overall we are very pleased and had a good time.

Kerry was a very good teacher, patient and helpful and I found her explanation of what do was clear and easy to follow.
I learnt chain stitch, double and triple crochet stitches and how to increase and decrease the number of stitches, which felt a lot to have covered during the 90 minute session.
Kerry was also very helpful at the end of the session in terms of advising how to access and follow beginners crochet patterns.

I really enjoyed my beginners guide to crocheting at Hobbycraft. The teacher was very patient and encouraging and with only 3 to teach she was able to provide plenty of 1 to 1 support.
The materials provided were all we needed to get started and the instructions will help me to practice at home as well. I'll do a bit more practicing at home before trying to make a toy!
An enjoyable class to attend. I might try more in the New year!

I’ve tried to learn crochet before elsewhere and failed, but Kerry was thorough, attentive and a very good tutor, she even stayed an extra 15 minutes to introduce us to crochet patterns and colour changes. I'm an adult that did it because I love halloween but also have arthritis in my hands so thought that the air dry clay would be an easy medium to work with and I wasn't wrong , I made a couple of items and my hands were fine, the lady that took the class was nice and even helped me and checked I was OK. I did buy some air dry clay on my way out to make some other things ( bought playdoh kits ) .

It was our first hobbycraft class. My toddler- although he had a short attention span really enjoyed. I think it’s good value for money considering you get a craft item and the class was lovely and relaxing. Teacher was very nice aswell and talkative

Teacher was nervous as it was her first session, she didn't need to be, and definitely has potential - she should feel confident as she did well. I was a bit concerned at the beginning that there wasn't enough orange tissue paper considering they were making pumpkins, however there was just enough. Glue pots would have been useful.

Just finished my workshop with Kerry, and it exceeded all my expectations. She was so knowledgable and patient as I’d never used a sewing machine before. She was a brilliant teacher and really considered what I needed to know for my ambitions for my little business. It’s such good value as well for a private 121 lesson. Generally speaking I always find all the staff in hobby craft Nottingham so helpful and brilliant, always interested to hear about what you’re making.

Not a great start, u had to ask three different people about the start/venue for my workshop and the we started late because no one had told the teacher I was there.However once we got going the workshop was very good, taking me through the basics of my machine and spending most time on how to use the Design Space. All very useful. Practical application was all demonstrated , would have been nice to have a go but appreciate time was limited.
Overall good, friendly informed teacher who gave me more confidence in having a go when I got home.

I really enjoyed my workshop, the tutor was knowledgeable and used easy simple language. She answered my questions and I feel like I have learned something and I will be putting that learning into practice over the weekend.
I would recommend this workshop to anyone who hadn't used a sewing machine before or like myself I needed an overview of my machine and some tips about changing needles/feet and thread types.

After being bought a sewing machine for my birthday and I am a total beginner was interested in making a cushion cover, I learnt so much more, like how to do a zip, button hole, embroidery stitch and edging with zig zag stitches to changing the feet, tension, loads of stuff and in only an hour, now I need to go and practice. The session was advertised as being an hour long, but even though we arrived late we were done within twenty minutes. I’m guessing it would have been an hour if the class was full but it did feel as though it was hurried.
The instructor kindly dried the canvas for us but also removed the masking tape which my daughter was looking forward to doing.
On a separate note when we arrived at the store, with my youngest in a pushchair we were told the lift was broken. So I had to carry him upstairs in his car seat. The instructor then told us the lift had been fixed the day before and her colleague obviously wasn’t aware. Not great service.

Our teacher was lovely - personable, patient and covered everything we could possibly want to know.
The venue was very warm but where we were sat upstairs was peaceful, quiet and calm - perfect for learning.
The practice sheet of fabric with lines to follow was a great idea and allowed my daughter to have a go at sewing with the machine in a hands on fun way.
Great value for money - £20 for an hour one-to-one session that covered all the basics and allowed my daughter to gain confidence before setting up her own machine.
Booking was easy(ish) and allowed us to find a time to suit - only feedback would be that it may be quicker if available times are listed at initial enquiry stage to save emailing back and forth between customer, customer service and the store.

We would definitely recommend and are planning on revisiting once we've mastered the basics and are ready to move on to a bigger project.

Teacher was friendly but there was no instruction whatsoever - I may as well have spent my money on some bags of airdrying clay and taken them home for my children to use. This was not a class, it was just an opportunity to play with clay. Saying that, my children did enjoy it, it just wasn't quite what I was expecting.

This was an enjoyable session which I attended with my young grandson. However a ‘workshop’ implies some level of instruction which this didn’t really have apart from giving the participants some ideas about what they might do. There were only 4 members and one pack of clay was used. Most had finished their pots within 30 minutes and I would have expected more clay to be provided instead of colouring sheets, given the cost of the workshop.
As well as the leader there was only
myself and one other adult who accompanied the other 3 children. Whilst the leader took this adult and one other child to wash their hands I was left alone with my grandson and 2 other children. Not good from a safeguarding point of view.

Relaxed class but I wouldn’t say my girls learnt very much. They were given a very small amount of clay to play with, were done in 15minutes and then had 45 minutes to colour.
Ok for my 5 year old but 45 minutes of colouring for a 3 year old is too much.
They would have stayed far more entertained if they just had more clay to play with.

The children finished the task rather quickly, but the teacher had anticipated that and provided extra activities.

Julie was really good with the children, and she was very patience with the steps and because they finished before the time we managed to make 2 keyrings which the kids absolutely loved it.

Our teacher Julie was absolutely amazing, she took it slow and she was really helpful, friendly, and she gave us some ideas for the baubles. She was great at chit chat we were talking about Xmas, to what our hobbies are. I would definitely give Julie 10/10 she definitely make it enjoyable for my husband (birthday boy) and myself.

The package which you get was amazing so much items and worth the money, if you add everything up. Will definitely be doing this next year as booked on for keyrings for children and the baubles for kids.

Wonderful class with Suzanne! I bought this class as a birthday gift for my mum and we went together with my Auntie. We are all quite artsy craftsy people so we took to it straight away but the satisfaction was immense! I can't recommend highly enough and the value for money is wonderful - we all walked out with 2 pieces of artwork each and a full paint-pouring kit to take away. Fabulous experience!

Ideal location for me to get to . I received a nice box with all I needed to complete the session. The staff member wendy that was teaching us was great and took her time with all of us individually to make sure we got the hang of the stitches . It was a very relaxed session and I left feeling confident about what I had learned. I loved the fact that the store has a dropping session weekly where people go to knit/ crochet together and have a chat but also can get some help with projects and issues. I would definitely be interested if they did courses for crochet beyond beginners .

He loved using the cool melt glue gun, which was safe for him to use on his own. The lady supervising was really friendly and helpful. When he returned home, he added two flags to finish it off.

I unfortunately arrived at the venue late with my two young grandchildren in tow. The staff were very reassuring and made me feel at ease. The lady who took the lesson and was very warm and friendly. My two year old granddaughter even went with her to choose her ceramic without me - a very rare occurence. The table was laid with the paint pallet and a variety of special colours that were not included in the box. She encouraged both children throughout. They really enjoyed the session and it was remarkable value. Thank you for making the experience so wonderful for us all.

We enjoyed the session. The facilitator was friendly and responded to requests for more materials. However it felt like the materials on the table were a little sparse for four children (who’d paid £40 in total for the session), and when I asked for more of a certain item it felt like it was a little reluctantly given. My only feedback would be for the crafting materials to be a little more freely given please, as my children didn’t use lots of them, they just wanted more of a particular item. The session was scheduled for an hour, however I felt pressure for us to finish after half an hour, so I wasn’t sure if the time on the booking was incorrect. Thank you for a great season.

I was very disappointed when I took my grandson to this workshop. No one in the store new anything about it, and as I was the only one there my grandson basically sat alone, no other children to give it atmosphere and interaction. The teacher was brilliant, gave clear instructions and help and it was obvious that she enjoyed her job very much, perfect. She explained every detail and made it enjoyable. We learned how to use a glue gun, how to fill the baubles and not to overfill, and came away with some lovely Christmas decorations. Highly recommend this class as a treat for Christmas and a fun thing to do.

Xmas wreath workshop
Great turor, practical help, guidance and advice.
Workshop at own pace with examples of wreaths previously made.
Lots of excellent embellishments and ample time to experiment own creations. Definitely worth time and money.

We had a great time with the Christmas Wreath making workshop today in Nottingham. I liked the fact that the shop provided more than what was in the box, because I don't think the boxes provided enough variety. Also, the person doing the workshop was great (I don't know their name but we completed the workshop at 11.30 on 21st Nov). Thanks for a great hour.

Loved my class with Jane. The box provided had good practise sheets and a nice book to practise in as well as a sketch pad for freehand practise. The pens provided are easy to use and great for beginners.

Well done Hobbycraft absolutely brilliant morning with Kelly at the Nottingham store booked my 2 grandchildren on for ceramic painting they loved it. Kelly was very welcoming and the children took to her straight away. Brilliant value for money.

My teacher Kerry was absolutely amazing. I’ve learned to use my sewing machine again. The atmosphere in the training area was clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend HobbyCraft one to one sewing class. All items was provided for the class and that’s just great. Well worth the price.

Easy to park, friendly teacher. Picked up some useful tips. Disappointed that the teacher was only able to use an I-Pad as some options on Design Space are not available. She also only had a limited selection of materials to demonstrate with.

My granddaughter aged 5 loved the workshop. She enjoys crafts. The materials provided were excellent and it’s good that there is more than they need for the session so that they can do more at home.
