Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

I have tried and tired to crochet and struggled so booked this to help me. Debbie was amazing so calm and she took her time to explain and help me to actually achieve 3 different types of stitch. This is ideal for beginners to get use to the stitches and how to hold the yarn etc. you also get yarn and a hook to take home to carry on your journey! Thank you Debbie

We had Louise from Kings Lynn branch teach paint pouring to two of us in a private class. I have to say that I was very impressed that the option to do this existed, especially as I had expected private tuition would cost more than a general group class. This was not the case. Louise was very friendly and a great teacher, patient and clear with instruction. I liked that she was able to do the craft alongside us too.
Paint pouring itself is a really fun thing to do, you don't know what the final item will look like and each created is unique. Great value for money, and the kit you get has plenty of paint left to take home and use again. Just waiting for mine to dry so I can collect it from store to bring home. 10/10 recommended! :)

Did the crochet with friendly, helpful (and patient)! teacher Vicky. Took us both the whole of the session for my friend and I to get the hang of it. Two balls of chunky wool and crochet hook provided in a cloth bag.
Would give 5 stars if the shop had a loo (as we had travelled some distance).

This was a great workshop with Deborah who is very kind & knowledgeable. Watching Sewing Bee is one of my favourite pastimes, so I decided to see if I can learn to use a sewing machine. Deborah showed me how modern machines work. I had a go at basic stitching and we looked at the different features on the various machines on offer. She gave me lots of advice and tips and I came away feeling more confident that I can actually do it. I’ll be returning to buy my first sewing machine soon and can’t wait to get started. I am a complete beginner to crotchet but was made to feel relaxed and reassured. Our coach Sue was very experienced and provided lots of explanation and demonstration of the techniques needed. The venue was bright, clean and warm. We were provided with all the materials needed and a print out of instructions to take home. Sue was also able to advise about how to extend your skills at home and the best materials to use. I had a very enjoyable time and although I didn’t find it easy, the time flew by and it was fun. I’d highly recommend this course.

Great workshop, Debbie talked us through each step which was great and she was more than happy to go over again when we asked.
We did have a problem as several of the hot glue guns wouldn't work but Debbie found 2 that worked so we were a to continue.
I didnt like the ribbon as it had writing on but when the bow was made you couldn't read it. So I left it off. But very happy.

Our artisan Sarah W was great, even taking us round the store afterwards showing us similar products to the ones practiced on. We did the brush lettering course and were supplied with: a cloth Hobbycraft bag; 8 Papermania brush pens; pad of bleedproof paper; pack of 10 gift tags; spiral hardcover book; practice paper and alphabet guide - so very good value for money.
Would have been 5 stars if there had been a toilet! We had travelled some miles to do the course but were told to go outside and find one elsewhere!

I was unsure if I wanted a cricut and wanted to know what I could use it for. I'm a crafter and found that I can use it for just about anything The teacher was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She shared projects she had made, talked about the design space and how to use it and share tips and tricks. Used different materials to show me the versatility and made projects relevant to me. Booking process an absolute nightmare. Tracey was great but said class should have been for 1.5 hours. I was only booked from 4.30-5.30. Had to book a further session to use up money on voucher

Had lovely relaxing morning making an Autumn Wreath with Lucy. There were plenty of materials to use and we both produced beautiful wreaths. And I left with my wreath, some additional materials if I want to add to it, a glue gun and a bag to put the materials in.

Absolutley awful
I'm so upset. Bought my 3 girls today to do the personalised keyring workshop We got there and got shown to rhe craft table.

It was filthy with felt pen all over it There were a few pipe cleaners and some beads thrown on the table.
The girl did not greet me or the girls or even explain how to make it. We sat down and guessed what we were doing. I

Another girl had picked a pink pipe cleaner so I asked if there were anymore pink as my girls would like one. I was told no, I abruptly and what was on the table is all there was There was black, green and red (even though there were a whole self of craft bits behind us with pope cleaners on!

The ends of the pipe cleaners were sharp. But we had a go anyway We then tried to personalise with the letters But there were hardly any options of letters, so none of my 3 girls could put there name on
The girl was really unhelpful and grunted that that's all she had!
My eldest didn't end up making one at all! And the other 2 came home with a sharp black pipe cleaner with a couple of. See through beads threaded on it.

I'm very upset as I paid £15 for this and it wasn't work 50p! could have got the all these materials for £5 and done them at home!

Id like my money back as I've got hardly any money and we can have done something so much better with it!

I had a lesson on Cricut Design space in Kings Lynn. Louise the tutor was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, polite and helpful. Louise showed me from basic lettering to cut away cards. She answered all my questions without hesitation. I must admit when i 1st purchased the Cricut Joy and set up design space it was mind blowing however, Louise made it all so understandable. She gave lots of tips and shortcuts. I would recommend this to a novice learner like me as I can’t wait to put that knowledge into practice now.

I booked a sewing lesson for my daughter, she’s 13 and autistic. The lady who was teaching my daughter how to use the sewing machines was very knowledgeable about the machines etc, she was so lovely and friendly. Today’s overall experience was great!
My tutor, a lovely lady called, Sue, was so encouraging and helpful, she made me feel very comfortable and at ease.
She was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my questions.
Even though my lesson took place on the shop floor, the way the store is laid out meant that I still felt comfortable in my surroundings.
I feel that this experience was fantastic value for money and I will definitely use it again in the future!

My Mum and I really loved the marble ceramic bauble workshop. Sarah W was really lovely, kind and patient. She explained everything really well and everything was presented in a beautiful box to take home and try out later. We loved how you could redo your Baubles the following year or add some gold paint to make them more to your liking. The process of how to create the marble effect was explained really well and very therapeutic to do. The class was done on the shop floor but tucked away so it still felt intimate. We loved the atmosphere with the must-have festive music and definitely will come back again next time. Thank you Sarah W for being amazing and we look forward to collecting our crafts once they are dry.

What an enjoyable fun time we had with Tracey. She was very upbeat helpful and patient in teaching us the basics of choosing the correct hooks, wool and basic crocheting stitches. As a bigginer to sewing this introduction to the machines, threads, materials was so beneficial. Sue my teacher was kind, patient very knowledgeable and listened to all my questions and concerns.
She put me through the steps to thread the machine and practiced a few lines of stitching. I also had a simple project which sue quided me to the correct material to use and advice to get me started.
I will be going back for a second lesson, I found it so useful using their different machines to get an idea of which make i will purchase.

I got my daughter this workshop because she wanted a sewing machine for Christmas but had never used one before upon approaching Hobbycraft to buy the sewing machine I was asked if I would like to book a lesson first so I did book a lesson of course for my daughter and that was today. Sue was the teacher and she was wonderful very pleasant lady who has a whole wealth of knowledge about sewing and sewing machines. My daughter was taught step-by-step how to set up the sewing machines and also did a driving test fabric which was lines squares and circles. All explanations and questions were answered by Sue it was very easy and she thoroughly enjoyed the lesson so I think I’m going to have to now buy her a sewing machine thanks Hobbycraft

My daughter loved this activity the teach was brilliant she really engaged with my daughter and was very knowledgeable on the foam clay and how to use it. The shop has the perfect set up for the activities, there was a wide variety of different colour foam clays to be chosen from a nice table and perfect sized chairs to work at.

Sue O was fantastic at my one to one sewing machine workshop. Was patient and methodical working through the basics of setting up and running the machine, as well as what to look out for and maintenance, which is what I had requested for my course. Covered everything I had asked for and more. Even advised on suitable needles and threads for the machine, as well as ideal scissors for fabric cutting. Had been given a Hobbycraft 19s machine but had zero clue what I was doing, so Sue was literally a godsend! Can not recommended this course enough.

I took my four young children (ages 7, 6, 6, and 2) to the Paint Your Own workshop run by Michele. They were allowed to pick out their own item to paint which was extra exciting for them! Michele was very encouraging and full of praise for the work my children did, and when my autistic son said he'd prefer a bigger paint brush Michele was on it; she found him a selection of brushes and prevented a meltdown. She was so friendly and helpful. Wonderful customer service and value for money. I am truly impressed. We will definitely return for more workshops in the future!

The teacher Sue was lovely really friendly, informative and helpful. Sue showed me how to get the sewing machine set up and then I practiced different sewing stitches on some fabric provided at the lesson. I was also shown how to do reverse stitching and sewing in a square. I think the class was really helpful for a beginner and good value for money. I will be booking another one on one sewing class soon!

The bunting is too complicated for absolute beginners to master in a short time. After an hour I gave up as it was just too frustrating. The teacher tried her best, bless her, but I simply couldn’t get the hang of it. She even tried a granny square but even that wasn’t working. The teacher was enthusiastic about her craft and clearly jolly good at it but I’m not! Crochet isn’t for me.

I had never done the paint pouring before. Sarah W was an excellent tutor and I was lucky to have a one to one lesson. I thoroughly enjoyed the session and shall definitely do more of these pictures so shall be buying more supplies. The lesson was great value considering I will end up with two completed pictures and the set that will be able to be used for many more.

I went along with my laptop and sadly the lady taking the course had never worked on a laptop with Cricut Access etc before so we were both learning what to do. I think the staff should be fully trained on all equipment that the app works on. I don't have a tablet so I didn't want to use the tablet format in the shop. This is an over site of the training and needs to be rectified, thus I didn't feel the got value for money I am afraid.

The class was fun. The member of staff was brilliant with the children. There were 2 children with additional sensory needs and a toddler. The teacher was wonderfully calm and helpful. The class was excellent value for money. I would have happily paid more for the activity. The activity lasted an hour and that was perfect.

Sue (Kings Lynn branch) was so good.
I booked this for my daughters 12 birthday with 3 of her friends (4 in total)
She was amazing with them, patient, explained well what they had to do and really helped them along the way.
We found our at the end of the session it was Sue’s birthday and the girls were thrilled they got to do it with her on her birthday.
The box was great, one didn’t have the pens, but they got some off the shelf for us. It was good good quality and perfect for the job.
I will most definitely be recommending the work shop to friends and family.
Please give our thanks to Sue. She did such a good job.

The tutor on the workshop was very friendly and knowledgeable, the venue was clean and well organised. My workshop box was full of the resources we needed to make 8 decorations along with paint, pens and lettering sheets, the workshop gave us the knowledge to practise the lettering to a higher standard. The tutor gave us encouragement that it would get easier. I believe the price l paid for the workshop was worth every penny and l would definitely attend further workshops in the future.

Sarah W taught me and she was absolutely lovely, she was patient and knowledgeable in the things I wanted to learn. I couldn't understand how to make a picture and she explained that you layer your colours, she went through iron on transferring, using the pens and using the programs to make things. Such a lot of different things which I wasn't expecting, I assumed i'd have to book more courses. I will book another later when I've experimented at home to learn about foiling etc.

Loved learning a new skill.
Brush lettering once the basics are mastered is quite therapeutic. The kit provided is also very nice and who doesn't love new pens. Looking forward to putting it into practice now.

As a Complete novice I enjoyed the experience. The teaching was very good. I felt that it helped although I also felt more time was needed. I was worried when I realised I would be on public display whilst doing my one to one but was so engrossed I soon forgot my surroundings. The advice given was useful. My two daughters really enjoyed the acrylic painting class. They learnt how to use the paints and how to paint flowers in perspective which was great. The tutor was engaging and friendly, the other staff we spoke to were friendly too. The store was lovely and open, and the class was arranged in the middle. With the materials included to take home, I think this is good value for money and we can't wait to book more!
