Throughout the year, Hobbycraft host a variety of workshops in stores and online, designed to give everyone the opportunity to master a new craft or refine a long-time favourite. Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.
Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

Granddaughter, age 5 and a half, really enjoyed making a bunny and a sheep. Easter holiday fun! Kirsten is lovely, she took time to show the children and gave them useful tips so we learned a few clever techniques. We bought five colours to use at home as she loves all things arts and crafts.

The teacher was lovely and engaging with the kids. My two girls really enjoyed the activity of making Christmas decorations. I think it is brilliant that Hobbycraft hosts these sorts of events as it is great to teach children to make their own personal gifts, decorations etc. Both my girls love crafting, and are looking forward to next weekend when they are making Christmas clay characters.

Jaden was our teacher, he was very helpful, patient, polite and ready to give guidance. The items were prepared and on the table ready for our arrival. Jaden apologised that some items were limited due to low stock, but we all shared and produced beautifully crafted Star Wreaths. Lovely evening really enjoyed. Well done Jaden.

I enjoyed it, although the 'teacher' hadn't done it before so we were both beginners! But I was very pleased with my finished wreath and will definitely have it on display. And we made them in 30 minutes!

This was a great introduction to paint pouring. Very impressed with the leader Jayden who was a lovely guy. Very artistic himself & knowledgable in all things art. He definitely should be taking lots of workshops as he is very good at all kinds of art as I discovered through conversation & extremely helpful & pleasant. He was a great embassador for Hobbycraft. The materials we were given were very good value for the money we paid for the workshop. Well worth it. Myself & my friend thoroughly enjoyed the process.

My two girls loved it. They had lots of fun. The teacher was very nice, helpful and interacting well with everyone. Kids had plenty of materials to complete the work.

I took my granddaughter and niece to the Easter kids dry clay workshop. Rachael the teacher was very friendly with both the children and adults. She showed the children how to make the rabbit and chick but was also encouraging when some of them produced other animals. The resources provided were very suitable for children producing no mess. The models that were produced by my girls were lovely and they really enjoyed the workshop. The workshop was very good value for money and my sister in law said she was impressed and will take her daughter to future ones in Southampton. Thanks.

My daughters had lovely time at this session, Amy was leading the session and she really was fabulous. She was great with the kids, really encouraging, positive and chatty. The materials provided were great. We will definitely be booking more sessions throughout the year!

I was given a voucher for this class as a Christmas gift, and had no idea what to expect. It was held at Hobbycraft Inverness. Jaydon, the class teacher was there early, setting up and was very welcoming, chatting about our other interests and hobbies. He explained what was going to happen and what was in the large box of equipment. He gave us a demonstration and then went through it whilst we did our first picture. We did two and I was pleased with the results. Jaydon was friendly, helpful and made me feel comfortable and confident. It was a fun evening and I would recommend it to others. The box of equipment had everything you need, paint, canvasses and lots more, a great gift for budding painters. We'll done Jaydon.

Teacher was fab. Patient, explained everything really clearly and ensured I understood and could carry out the crochet stitches properly. Venue grand. I liked the kitchen table feel and it encourages folk to do classes for sure. Loved the craft box with everything you needed (2 balls of good quality wool and crochet hook) and the written instructions to take away.
The hour and a half passed really quickly but I left able to crochet at last! Oh and also good extra tips from the teacher on ideas and patterns / encouragement to utilise loads of free help from Hobbycraft on line. Cheers Annabel - great experience for my very first class

Another great workshop. Graham was very helpful and friendly. Lots of materials available and plenty of spiders made. A nice easy craft for kids. We turned ours into spider bunting.

Jay was fantastic leading the class today - really friendly and helpful. My four year old son is delighted with the pumpkin that he decorated and we’ve bought a few Christmas paper mache gifts to decorate ourselves at home. Highly recommend.

I really really enjoyed the autumn wreath workshop. This was my first time at a Dobbies workshop and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The materials were good value, it was a nice relaxed atmosphere but enough small talk to not feel awkward. The instructor (Innes) was brilliant, the perfect balance of chatty and letting us focus. I was surprised that it was his first time doing a workshop because he was such a pro. We got to keep everything in our pack, even if we didn’t use it, including the glue gun. I love my autumn wreath and I can’t wait to try another workshop out!

Lucy really enjoyed this class. Demi was patient kind and so helpful, she has really boosted my daughters confidence and I can’t thank her enough for the fantastic sewing class that my daughter had with her. She made a tote bag and a makeup bag and learnt all about her machine etc. definitely recommend this class. Money well spent

The teacher was fun and kept it engaging by adapting the activity throughout. We loved using the air dry clay - it was a first and my daughter loved the texture and smell of it. The hour flew by and she was so proud to be able to take her work home to show her Papa. The teacher also told us about other workshops she thought we’d like. We’ll definitely be back to do another!

Emma was lovely and friendly. She showed me how to do brush lettering. The kit was great and I really enjoyed doing the lettering. It was very relaxing and I can't wait to practise some more at home. Thanks

My daughter and I very much enjoyed the Paper Mache Egg workshop. She was the only one booked on, so the staff let me do some with her. Nicola who ran the workshop was lovely. Very friendly and helpful. Made you feel like you were sat with friends. Plenty of choice in colours of paper, and plenty of glue, Brushes etc. My daughter was not rushed at all, and we were there much longer than planned. Nicola also found us a box to take the eggs home in, as they were still quite sticky when it was time to leave. We love the hobbycraft workshops and will definitely be back for me.

The teacher Annabelle was very a very talented and kind person. The venue was Inverness. The box of craft was more than enough to make lots of Christmas bauble creations. My granddaughter was extremely happy with all her creations. This was very good value for money and we can’t wait to find what other classes are available.

Delighted with the goodie box received to take home.
The photos in the instruction leaflet were not very clear and the written instructions, especially for the easel card were not at all helpful.
Emma was just lovely, a credit to Hobbycraft. Although I enjoyed the 1-2-1 with just me and Emma I had hoped the workshop was going to be a way of meeting new people as I am new to Inverness.

My mum and I attended the workshop for her birthday. We both had a great time. Annabel was lovely and very helpful and friendly. The kits were great and good value for money. We are both very happy with what we made.
