Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

Just brought a new sewing machine and booked a session with Lyn at Droitwich. Lyn was very friendly and but me at ease straight away. I learn how to use the threader needle and to the one step button hole foot. She was very knowledgeable and was able all my questions. Would recommend to anyone who needs help and support with their sewing machine.

I booked a session at Webb at wychbold, Droitwich.
I wanted to buy a new sewing machine as my old Singer is showing signs of giving up the ghost.
Several sewing machines were demonstrated, showing the various functions.
I found the session very useful and the demonstrator was both friendly and knowledgeable.

A super canvas session using paper stencils - the instructor (Jenny) was great and let the children experiment and explore with the cut out shapes. All very organised and well thought out. Great value for money.

The actual workshop was excellent; the staff member couldn’t do enough for us. She also let the children do their own work.
The reason for the lower score is the booking system. I was emailed to change time and date of an advertised class as it was too late and they would have to close. I couldn’t make it so a better time was offered and accepted, only to have a message the day before the class, with original time!

121 Sawgrass sublimation workshop at Droitwich. The teacher is fantastic, really friendly and approchable. I felt comfortable asking questions. I got to play around with the software which was my main reason for the workshop. I created a design and made a mug which was my free gift. The class is amazing value for money - even though its only 1/2 hour we went over slightly but I never felt like it was being rushed. It’s the 2nd workshop I have done and both were really good.

Sophie knew her stuff.
We did encounter some of the issues the I had with the software not performing as it should and I will contact Cricut.
She was very helpful in getting a work around which satisfied my initial cutting of acetate material which was thicker than normal.
So thanks again Sophie, and make sure you create some transfers for your son

Masking canvas painting. Great activity. Suitable for 4 years to 9 years. It would have been clearer if the teacher had shown a couple of actual examples as the children seemed a bit mystified at first.
Our two did a mix of the initial and a heart but geometric shapes were a bit advanced for first time. Good introduction though and can do more at home on same lines.

Jill was wonderful! So friendly and approachable, ready to answer any questions. There were a few problems with the machines, which she and other staff members tried to sort out, which took time, but Jill readily made up the lost time and helped me with everything I asked. Thoroughly enjoyed it and have already recommended it to others.
Wish there were workshops on patchwork and quilting etc.

I really enjoyed my Cricut 1-2-1 with Sophie. She was very knowledgeable and gave me some good tips. I’m a complete newcomer so she talked me through Design Space too. We made a card and did some double vinyl printing.

I had my 1-2-1 sewing lesson with Lin and she was amazing! She started off the lesson with finding out what I hoped to get out of the lesson and then ran through the basics of the machine, the settings and materials for sewing. Lin showed me how to thread up the machine and explained in a way which I could follow very easily. All materials were provided for me and I could even take my practice sheet home with me to show off! I feel the experience was great value for money. Lin made sure every minute was used and even showed me the different threads and needles and explained when I would require them for different fabrics. Lin was very patient with me and definitely helped spur me on. Would definitely recommend Lin to anyone - thanks Lin!

Lovely time with my granddaughter. Teacher was very patient and friendly. She helped but didn’t take over.
Venue was good.
Time given was just what was needed, we were never rushed.
I had a problem with the original booking and struggled with agency used but the team at Hobbycraft were excellent.
My son said my granddaughter hadn’t been that happy for a while and she was anxious to show others what she had made,

Teacher very patent.i found it very hard to learn more than one stitch but I’m usually slow learning.
Venue was ok except people kept asking for help from the teacher even though sign was up.

Had a wonderful afternoon making an autumn wreath. My friend and I were put at ease as we were given our materials and glue gun, and along with a wreath ‘Made Earlier’, we were encouraged to personalise our own creation!
We loved, leaving with a bag full of our unused bits and wreaths, that are now proudly hanging from our front doors.

A great beginner’s course: there were just two of us on the course which meant the tutor was able to give one to one tuition and guidance. We received a cotton bag, crochet hook and 2 x 100g balls of yarn, together with written instructions for chain, double crochet, treble and half treble.

The instructor was very helpful, friendly and approachable. The time was ideal (5 - 6.30pm) and although the workshop was within the store I didn’t feel awkward with customers wandering past!

We took our two nieces who are 9 and 11 yrs old. The class was fully booked and held in the main shop. The girls had a great time masking tape up their canvasses and then painting an abstract (some children opted to do their own initials instead). There were no restrictions on the amount or quality of the materials (more white paint was needed by another child and provided immediately). Teacher (Nicola, I think!) was lovely. and she ensured the children had fun and were helped with any questions. She helped them if they looked a bit stuck for inspiration too. The time whizzed by and the girls were very proud of their creations.

We were a group of 3 and were the only students so we had lots of attention.Our tutor, Briony was very patient and had a calm persona so the session was very relaxed. She explained all the basic stitches very well and helped us all with understanding patterns and counting rows etc. and individually on any thing we were unsure of. 1.1/2 hours flew by but we covered the basics so lots of knowledge to now put into practice at home and we are armed with printouts and all the equipment used on the session. Very enjoyable would definitely recommend, good value and a big thank you to Briony (Droitwich Store) ☺️

Sophie our tutor was extremely helpful.
She explained clearly all the technical side of using the cricut maker 3.
Also Sophie did various demonstrations on a variety of materials.
Sophie is obviously a very talented lady and after showing and explaining the many things the cricut machine can do it inspired us so much that we purchased a cricut maker 3.
The only negative was ,other shoppers passing by us and disrupting concentration due the fact there was not much room around the demonstration desk.
5***** for Sophie's knowledge on the cricut machine and patience with us newbies. She certainly gave us the confidence to be able to use the machine. so Many Thanks Sophie we appreciate you giving us a great demonstration.

I booked my in 3 Grandchildren for the painted canvas workshop. Naomi was lovely with the children, very kind and patient. They all loved her.
Plenty of paint colour choices, we were not hurried at all.
The workshop was held in a quiet part of the store, good height table for the children to work at comfortably.

We were taught by Bryony in the Droitwich store, she was patient and knowledgeable. I took my teenage daughter and we both joined the class, my daughter can be very shy but she quickly relaxed into the class. We went from barely being able to hold the yarn to being able to do all of the stitches comfortably, my daughter is now half way through making a new scarf! The materials provided were great too!

I was the only one doing this workshop. We spent most of the time concentrating on the technique of brush lettering. This was really useful learning how to form the letters properly and how to join the letters together to write words on the baubles. I would have liked more time to complete some more of the baubles but all in all an enjoyable workshop.

I thought it was good value for money. All the equipment needed was provided - two boxes of baubles (one small and one large), a pack of different coloured brush lettering pens, a notepad to practice and worksheets which we went through during the workshop.

The workshop was taken by Gemma (I think!). She was very friendly and gave me some good advice. I would recommend this workshop.

My son and niece, both 6 years old, enjoyed making Christmas tree decorations from pipe cleaners and beads. Gemma was great at demonstrating how to build up the Christmas tree, and offered her help where required. Once the decorations were made, Gemma offered the materials to the children to make whatever they liked - it was nice to just explore the materials by twisting and linking. It was helpful having made up examples hung on the white twig tree, so we could see what we were aiming for. This is our second craft workshop at Hobbycraft and we think they are excellent value for money. We’ll be back for more!

We arrived 15 minutes early and didn't receive a particularly warm welcome - we were told we were early and to come back.
When we did start the tutor didn't really interact with the children attending - she didn't even introduce herself.
They weren't shown techniques but just given paint which meant my children weren't sure what to do especially my son who became upset and withdrawn from the activity. Noticing this the tutor didn't try to engage with him to make the experience enjoyable.
All children were done within 15 minutes so we were given another canvas and again no real interaction. We were done after 10 minutes and both children asked to leave which we did. When we got home and the canvas was dry and we removed the tape the paint had bled everywhere (masking tape and watery paint are not a good combo) and this lead to more upset.
I'm really disappointed as we've attended several classes at the Solihull store which my children loved.

The tutor was great, very patient!
The materials provided were excellent and coupled with what I learned made the workshop very good value for money.
The venue was fine, although being located in a public area meant the tutor was interrupted several times and asked about items in the store.
My only 'criticism' for want of a better word is that I would have found it easier if the chairs had been higher in relation to the table; I found I was so low (and I am not short at 5' 7") that I was not looking down on the paper.

Although, we were sat at a table in the main store, with people walking around us (so not private). The course content was good, teacher was fab and full of useful tips and materials given to us were also better than expected. We did lots of practice on sheets, but I liked that as the pens take a bit of getting use to. It was also a nice little group of 4:1 so had more time to answer queries and help us individually.

I booked my 2 children aged 3 & 7 onto the paint your own ceramics session during the February half term, it was a 30 minute session with Sophie who was lovely and gave lovely encouragement throughout.

Thoroughly enjoyed my brush script workshop. The workshop tutor, Gemma, was amazing. She was friendly and knowledgeable, giving advise on how to improve the letter formations and joins. She created a very relaxed atmosphere. The resources in the kit box were perfect: a fantastic set of pens and the practice sheets were brilliant. The A4 notepad with very smooth pages to great to practice on. There was also a pack of gift tags and a notebook to personalise. The workspace in the shop was in a quiet area. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this workshop and I’m keen to try others in the future.

Gemma was great, she showed me some useful stuff on Design Space and I was able to take useful notes to refer to at home. We made a few cake toppers and I’m now clear on the “weld” function. I can’t wait to make more and personalise them!
Gemma also gave me some useful troubleshooting tips and tips on working with different kinds of card stock
I’ll definitely be back for more tuition!

It was OK, kept getting interrupted as customers were unaware that we were in a paid session. The lady did all she could to help me understand the machine ect but she also said she was new to card and was more into vinyl. We did a cut out if card and some vinyl but honestly i should have stuck to watching videos in YouTube.

I don’t feel that this was worth the cost of the course when you can buy the kit in store for £10 and then have a store assistant who essentially oversees what you do (she was a lovely lady and this is no reflection on her)Also could have done with being located in a better place in the shop as people were trying to get past us in the aisles.

If you are into crafting and want to try something new then this course could be for you. It takes an hour to do the wreath making and it was the best hour. The price of the course included everything you need to get started. The lady leading the course showed us two that had been made then it was our turn. I had my own design in mind I just planned it out then started making my wreath. You get so engrossed with what you are doing the hour flies by. At the end you have your own unique wreath that no one else will have. All the equipment you got to make the wreath you keep. Personally I would do more crafting classes at Hobbycraft. I just hope this is the start of Hobbycraft providing classes all year round as I would go. I would even do the wreath making one again it was that good

Wasn’t worth the money when you can buy all the items for around £20. We were just given the kits and made it ourselves, no instructions or help. Class was just watched over by a sales assistant from hobbycraft store, so no extras costs. I wouldnt really call it a workshop.

The teacher was friendly, helpful and patient. Very disappointed in the kit and the glue gun which were on sale in the shop for £10 and £5 respectively but we paid £35 per person for the class. I feel that the price we paid was out of line with the the kit and the content of the class.

Unfortunately my original day and time for the course had to be rearranged and although they did give me other options I had to make further childcare and work arrangements which was a bit of a pain
Whilst the course would have been good I felt the IT trouble Gemma had meant she couldn’t deliver the course to its full potential
Whilst she did everything she could the initial computer problems meant we lost precious time and the outcome was not as she intended or I had anticipated although not through lack of enthusiasm or knowledge from Gemma who delivered it.

My teacher, Linda, (Lin) was just fabulous. She was very patient, clear with instructions, gave extremely useful tips and you could tell that she was someone that sews, rather than know the theory. Being able to use a machine that was very similar to mine was very helpful and so having it in Hobbycraft was better than a classroom. Can't recommend this course highly enough. The best hour and so, so value for money.

Christmas card making, this was great fun. My friend & I were lucky to have the teacher to ourselves. She was super friendly & made the class very enjoyable & easy to follow- I’ll be booking Cricut lessons with her. The materials in the box were good & we had a surplus to bring home to make more. We over ran on time so that would be my only criticism is it needs to be slightly longer.

The workshop was more than worth it for me as a new cricut user, it's a mind field. Sophie was great very helpful and a wealth of knowledge as a cricut user herself. I had all my questions and issues answered by her which has now given me more confidence to use my own machine. Wish it was longer! I have found the staff very useful and knowledgeable at Droitwich and go to this store specifically even though it is not my most local store as most of the staff are cricut users and have machines themselves they are so helpful and know lots of great tips , thank you!

The session was less than I hoped as the foil printing I had wanted to have demonstrated is not available from an ipad app, plus the I pads on the display had failed after a power cut and not been repaired, we needed a pc to demo the foil printing and not available so could not demonstrate, the shop is also very hot. Gemma who took the session was very helpful knowledge and friendly and made great efforts to do what she could with the equipment available, but I do not think I should have paid for something you were unable to provide. I would have preferred to be told in advance the demo was not possible and saved my journey and time until it was possible. I would appreciate your Comments on this.

Fantastic value for money.

Well organised and plenty of space for little ones to work. The box of items was full of more than enough to enjoy there and take home.

Naomi was excellent she was fabulous with the children and waited until everyone was ready without making you feel like you needed to rush.

The hour flew by and my little girl was entertained throughout with what she was doing and was so excited to take her dream catcher home

Would recommend to anyone with children who like crafty things and even those that don’t.
