Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

Lovely, friendly class leader and a chilled out atmosphere in the session as a result. It would be handy to have laminated simple instructions available for continuous reference - my 4 year old can't always keep verbal instructions in mind for long. Happy with the materials available and the level of personalisation. Would also be nice to have a little cardboard box or something to take our creations away in.

The hour spent with Michelle was well worth it. We used the Cricut software to cut vinyl on the Cricut Maker and then used the heat press and the mug press. Despite some technical issues Michelle kept her good humour and I left the workshop feeling confident to use my neglected machine at home.

I have had a Gemini cri-cut cut machine for some time. It made so much crunching that i wondered if i was doing something incorrectly, i then lost confidence using it and it has sat in a drawer for a few years.
I saw this course at Hobbycraft and thought it was worth trying. Vanessa was a little worried about teaching me as she hadn't used a Gemini before herself. I assured her she knew more that me and we would give the lesson a go. Vanessa showed me how the plates went together, that the crunching was perfectly normal. We cut different materials out and used dies and embossing plates to show me the different techniques. I have come away feeling much more confident about using the machine and am looking forward to spending some time using it.

I went for a beginners crochet lesson with Jack. I was the only one so i was lucky to have a one to one session. Jack started from the very beginning showing how to cast on, how to do a chain, a double and treble stitch. He was very patient, relaxed and helped me when i needed extra guidance.
I can now go away and practice until i perfect my tension and stitches. I would happily book again for a more advanced course once i have mastered the technique some more.

The class was well paced and my daughter was given time to make her monsters the way she wanted them to look.

Jack was so lovely and patient. Perfect teacher. Wall and hook provided and a perfect pace for beginners. We learned to chain and double stitch as well as how to change yarn colour.

Our teacher, Jack, was really friendly and easy to understand. He was patient and good at showing two people different parts when one went ahead. It was good to see an example of what Jack had made before (a really impressive large Octopus emtirely out of crocheting!) So more examples of whats posssible migght be worth having.

We both enjoyed it and feel confident to carry on crocheting at home. We like the wool we got to take away with us.

Jack was our tutor and he's certainly knows his crochet! we had 2 balls of Christmassy colored yarn and a crochet hook, it was fun and I don't have a clue on crochet and came away able to do some chains.i loved it, Jack is a wonderful teacher and we all loved his giant octopus he crocheted.

The person taking the workshop was brilliant. Really calm and enthusiastic. Very encouraging and clearly demonstrated the activity. Materials provided were good too. Workshop didn't feel rushed, and there was plenty of space.

My only complaint is that there was no toilet available, and it was a little walk to the nearest toilet, meaning having turned up early for the workshop we then missed the first 10 minutes. If you are going to put on workshops for young children, you need to either have a toilet available, or make it very clear when booking so people know to go elsewhere before arriving.

We really enjoyed this workshop. We have done quite a few workshops but find Jasmine is our favourite teacher. She spend time chatting to my boys and actually got them talking ( which is quite an achievement as they are so quiet normally) and was so helpful and patient. The workshop was brilliant, I was running late because of a traffic jam and telephoned to let them know and HobbyCraft were amazing. I joined 20 mins in to the workshop but was brought right up to speed by the teacher and was made very welcome by the others on the workshop. Completed my wreath running over by just 10 mins and I’m very happy with it and looking forward to hanging it on my front door. I’ve done at few workshops now and they are so well organised and any issues the customer service you receive is first class. Highly recommend them and I’m already booked on a few more.

It was first time taking my 5yr old to a class and have to say I am very impressed. The staff were amazing and interacted throughout with the children by asking them 'themed' questions and giving them the choice on what they would like to make.
Very well organised and all supplies provided for the whole experience, everything explained fully each step of the way and even advised of how much/where to locate items used after if they wanted to make other things at home.

Great value for money, came home with three different makes all within a half hour session.

Will definitely be bringing him back again for other classes

The class was decorating Christmas paper bags using POSCA pens, we were provided with a bag containing all we needed, very good value, my grandchildren age 11 and 12 loved it. They are very shy girls but the class teacher was very kind and encouraging to them.

I booked a 1-1 workshop at the Bristol store. I've recently bought a hobbycraft sewing machine but as I've not used one in a long time I hadn't even opened the box as I was really unsure of what I needed to do. I was booked in with Katie, and I was told it was her first workshop if I hadn't been told that I would never have known! I had an amazing hour with Katie showing me how to use the different features of the machine and how to set it up properly. She answered all of my questions with ease and was really supportive. I'd genuinely book on to a workshop with Katie leading it for basically anything! She was really great and I really enjoyed the session. As it ended, she took me down to the sewing section to show me some different accessories we'd been talking about. No hard sell, just recommendations based on things she uses for her own projects.

Lovely venue, nice and cool on a very hot day and the materials provided were perfect for the workshop. The Teacher was excellent and spent time teaching me the crochet stitches I needed for my pattern. I struggled to start with but the teacher kept explaining the stitches and method until it finally clicked. Highly recommend the workshops at Hobbycraft, I’ve done a few now and they are always excellent.

My 9 year old and 6 year old boys enjoyed the weave a cup at Bristol Cribbs Causeway Hobbycraft. The teacher was very patient and offered help where needed. The range of wool provided was good with a beaded tassel as an interesting extra addition. It has introduced them to a new hobby as they are enthusiastic to weave more at home.

Great 1:1 sewing lesson. I was a complete beginner and I have never used a sewing machine before -always found them scary and daunting! The lesson was pitched perfectly for me and gave me all the information and knowledge to buy the correct first sewing machine. The teacher clearly had lots of experience and made the lesson fun and engaging - with lots of opportunities to ask questions. Hobbycraft at Cribbs is perfect as there is loads of parking outside, making the whole experience less stressful and after the class I could buy everything I needed to start my sewing journey afterwards. I would have preferred a separate area as my daughter got easily distracted by other things. The materials provided were excellent and gave lots of inspiration. I was only person attending the workshop and thought there would be more people. Best to go with friends. I'm familiar with watercolours but haven't done any painting for ages. I want to see what workshop was like. I was given a box of supplies in pretty box. The teacher was friendly, I was given tips and instructions on how to approach watercolours. We were meant to paint abstract floral field but mine is different is version the teacher was painting. I felt that I had no idea what suppose to do and went freestyle. I really enjoyed the process and time went really fast. Renewed my confidence to practice more

Michelle was fabulous! I went as a complete novice and she took me through the different options of materials and we started looking at all the different projects that could be done.

We did an iron on bag and a picture from transfer both showed me a small glimpse of the possibilities you can do with circuit and I’m excited to start trying different projects.

Thank you to Victoria and her amazing patience. The magic ring to start off was very challenging and took awhile for us all to get past this point. We were given all the materials we needed that we got to take away with us. The time went very quickly, as it was difficult to do we didn’t get very far. Overall it was a great workshop, i definitely will need a lot more practice

Good idea for a workshop. However not really sure it's beginner's friendly. Victoria was really helpful and patient with us. Bit frustrated to not be able to go back home with a finished product. Maybe replacing the buying by something smaller like cloth / face cloth will allow to make it during the 2 hours.

Really useful for anybody who is new to cricut like us ! My daughter had the explore air 2 for Christmas and just needed a kick start in what it was capable of doing and how to actually use the app . Our teacher was great and gave us loads of tips and pointers will definitely go home and practice what we have learnt and re book once we have mastered to move onto more complicated things . I would 100% recommended anybody who is new to the cricut machines to book in on a session

Nice small class of just 5, which felt safe. Vanessa who ran the class was lovely & helpful. Box of items to use was plentiful - my daughter and I were very impressed. Only thing was some of the figures were too big to fit in some of the decorations, or they would fit in one specific one / but we found out too late…. Some instructions/guidance would have been beneficial before we started.

But overall we had a lovely hour together creating and were really pleased with all we came away with.

Was a great one to one - he was very good at explaining things and answered all my questions without making me feel silly for asking them. He let me have a go myself which is how I like to learn. My only complaint is that the hour went by so quickly. The area we were in was bright and airy.

The teacher was lovely, friendly and chatty. We all had a good laugh whilst making our wreaths! She had some ideas to help anyone who was stuck for inspiration.
When it became too hot upstairs in the store, she went and changed the aircon, nothing was too much trouble.
The kit is very good, being able to keep the glue gun was a lovely surprise! I can’t wait to hang my wreath.

I booked this workshop having seen Cricut but not knowing where to start - so many gadgets and films! The session was clear and understandable to me with no experience. Our teacher was really helpful in answering individual questions and ideas. It was helpful to see a small project "come to life".

The tutor Dan was lovely and so well qualified in every area of arts and crafts. I had been expecting just a sales assistant to be running the class! The materials were nicely laid out and everything was explained . We were given a lovely box of materials to use and a brilliant pouring canvas to take home. We had 4 small canvas boards to work on in the class. Dan explained and demonstrated the various techniques which I found very interesting. I was pleased with what I managed to produce in the short time. The course was amazing value for money and I would like to do more of these courses in the future. It was also a nice quiet space in the shop where we weren’t surrounded by other shoppers. Was great. Thanks Dan

I enjoyed the workshop. Thc teacher was excellent and very calm.
The craft box was well presented with all the relevant tools needed.
I would have liked some different cutters included as 1 hour making stars was a bit much. However it was good to take the unused clay home as well as all the other items in the box.

Teacher was great. We needed a better table surface as it was messy and stuck to the clay. It would also have helped to have had some bowls of water and a sponge for smoothing edges. A few different shapes for cutters would of made some nice different shapes.

Ellie was a great leader but the course outline on the website was misleading.

We got nowhere near finished in the time we had so I don't feel like I was able to get much help as it took so long to get the base layer on.

I've been left with a lot of work to do on my own which defeats the point of a workshop.

Dan was great! He was extremely attentive and incredibly helpful. He made the hour disappear in no time. The workshop was interactive, hands on, fun and great value. An extra hour to explore some medium options and learn I.e. more cell activation work and what to do if we want to start from scratch would have been fab. Definitely worth the time and every minute. The starter set was a great benefit in addition to coming away with three of my own art pieces! ☺️
A wonderful introduction to fluid art seeing immediate results. I wholeheartedly recommend this workshop.

My 10 and 5 year old really enjoyed their morning making friendship bracelets. They made 3 bracelets and still had lots of materials left in the box provided that they could take home. Julie was a great help and helped my son throughout the session. Both were overjoyed that they could make a plait. Great introduction to bracelet making.
