Throughout the year, Hobbycraft host a variety of workshops in stores and online, designed to give everyone the opportunity to master a new craft or refine a long-time favourite. Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.
Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

An absolutely fantastic experience, thanks so much!
It was for Nanny’s birthday and although she was nervous beforehand, she had an amazing time!
The teacher was lovely and very helpful, and the venue was ideal- it also saved us from clearing up at home!
Great value for money, I just hope that there’s space to book in to another class in the near future!

Alice, Was patient ensuring students by the end of session, all students have the ability to cast on with the loop. Crochet chain. Double & treble stitch.

Both my boys enjoyed the christmas baubles decorating today at the Basildon Hobbycraft! It was very relaxed and they took home some great additions for their tree!

Thoroughly enjoyed this class at Hobbycraft in Basildon. The tutor Alice was very friendly & knowledgeable, giving advice throughout. Nothing was too much trouble.
The class was held on the mezzanine floor which was great & all the craft items were in plentiful supply.
I had a great experience & wouldn't hesitate to recommend the class. I'll definitely be back for more!

Great Halloween Creatures clay class, using no-mess air dry clay provided. Patient and kind teacher for my SEN Child, who loved it! Came away with a couple of ghosts, a bat, Spider and Pumpkin… good value for money and gets them in the Halloween mood

My boys had a great time creating their Mache pumpkins! Our workshop was run by Ann who was engaging and encouraging! She was dressed as a witch, which added to the atmosphere and enjoyment!

Ann was a great tutor, my five year old loved making her Hama beads horse she says it's a unicorn without a horn!?!. The time Ann spent engaging with Thea was great, giving her encouragement and support, offering suggestions and alternatives. Brilliant course. Thank you

The teacher was approachable, and friendly. The workshop started early as we were all present. She spent plenty of time explaining and didn't rush us. My five year old thoroughly enjoyed creating her initial canvas and is keen to do another course and more crafty stuff Which I'm thrilled with.

Abby was great, she lead the class and ensured all children had what they needed to create their canvas. She encouraged the children to choose their colours and create their own design. My boy thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you

From the start staff were very helpful and accommodating as I also brought my toddler in a buggy. They helped us use the lift to get up to the workshop. My son was the only attendee as other children didn’t show up and Abbie was great with him. She offered help anytime he seemed stuck and always encouraged him. She was so friendly and approachable and even told me about adult workshops for myself. I was surprised that she also gave us some materials to make more keychains at home- I want to make some for my own small business! I highly recommend. It was worth way more than the £5 we paid.

Abby the tutor was very kind, helpful and pleasure to be around! Great value for money - my two children made 3 key rings each and we were not rushed out of the door when the session time was up …. In fact we were made to feel very welcome to stay on so that we could finish the last key ring. We all had a super time and have booked on more sessions. Thank you!
Do you offer a weekly craft club for children and/or families - something like t-shirt logos/ knitting/glue something/anything. You could run it in conjunction with school terms (every half term about 6wks) do different weekly/termly crafting classes, fees paid upfront. I and my two children would be very interested . Thank you once again for a great workshop today

Fantastic workshop for children. A wide range of paints available, including glow in the dark paint. Children can use glitter too.
Ann was fabulous as always and on hand to offer help when needed.

We had a pottery clay session with Ann, she made us feel very welcome and was hands on when my daughter was struggling to roll the clay out.
Venue was very spacious and the materials provided were perfect. Value for money was excellent allowed my daughter to get on her creativeness in a different environment and learn new techniques.
Defiantly will be booking up for future activities.

The teacher was very good at explaining what we were doing and she was really welcoming and helpful. She was very knowledgeable and I felt I was in very good hands! The area we did the workshop was a really great set up. I thoroughly enjoyed the different techniques that I was taught and really loved that I could take the rest of my kit home and continue practicing what I had learnt. This was my first workshop and I will definitely be coming back to do some others after such a great experience. I can’t wait to come back and pick up the artwork I made today once it’s dry! Such a great arrangement and experience today.

My 5 year old grandson loved this class. He also went home and showed his 10 year old sister how to make the spiders. She loved it too! I actually think the materials were more than the cost of the class. We got to take the extra materials home! Highly recommend this craft workshop!

My husband had bought me a cricket machine for Christmas which I’ve been nagging him about for ages. I was so excited about opening up I had no idea where to start! On one of my visits to Hobbycraft looking for cricket materials the sales assistant recommended booking a class with them. I had a one-to-one with Abby. She was amazing very knowledgeable and an excellent teacher. She was able to help me find my way round design space and start me off with some small projects. 100% recommend hobby craft classes.

Once again we had a fabulous time. I personally think these are fantastic value when you consider that you keep everything in your box and you are getting top tips from the artisan to make your creation even better. On all sessions extra ideas have been given to us by Ann. Today was making the most of something that would have gone in the bin, but was made into something pretty-along with many other helpful tips!
Ann takes a real interest in the crafts we are doing both on the workshop or what we are trying ourselves.
I like looking out over the shop too when doing the workshop.
Back in a couple of weeks for the next one!

I thoroughly enjoyed my Christmas card making workshop with Ann.
It was great and I came away learning a few tips Ann was kind enough to share with me.
The cards come out beautiful and it was great value for what you get included in the box to take away and make more cards!
I would definitely recommend to anyone thinking about doing this.

Yesterday my daughter said to me that she hopes Ann is doing the workshop again and she was delighted to see it was Ann again today.
The activity is a little fiddly for a (just) eight year old so I helped her a little. Ann again though was good at explaining and demonstrating the steps and patient with my excited daughter! Ann also talked to her about other crafts she was interested in and also made a point of seeing her before we left to see what she’d bought with her birthday money (which my daughter was made up about Ann seeing her at the end).
We’ve got some bits to finish off on the dream catcher at home and Ann gave us a few ideas/options - but we’ve had a great morning crafting.
My daughter cannot wait until the next workshop!

Abbey was the teacher for the class and she was amazing! Super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable and really easy to get along with. It was a relaxed and insightful hour and I was so excited to get started with my own projects afterwards. She provided materials for me to try out iron on on fabric and infusible ink on a coaster. The results were perfect and I learned more about how to use the materials, various processes and a better understanding of the cricut software. I arrived with a lot of questions and she was able to answer all of them. Highly recommend!

Ann was lovely and so encouraging. Really built the confidence of my daughter to try something new and be creative letting her try slightly different ideas - eg adding a tree and a pond to her flower landscape.
The workshop area was good and we could see the whole shop from where we were up in the gallery.
Ann told us about the other workshops and we are looking to book friendship bracelets and dream catcher making. Although my daughter has said she’d like to do the same acrylic paint workshop again one day. She is so proud of her painting!
