Hand Thrown Mug Pottery Painting Class

Booked this class as a gift for my sister who is expecting her first baby. We absolutely loved it, our teacher was so supportive and full of so much positivity. The location was beautiful and very clean. The experience was very hands on and her attention was distributed evenly to everyone in the class. I was able to make two great pieces. Mostly I loved the freedom and creativity that was given to us.

I took my mum for her birthday as this has always been on her bucket list.
We found the venue very easily and was greeted by Louise who was very welcoming and friendly. The venue itself suited the needs of the class perfectly.
The structure of the morning really worked, watch and learn, a bit of hand holding and then you have a go yourself (albeit with Louise very close by to help out if needed). We made a mug and a bowl and were very happy with the results, entirely down to Louise's training! It was definitely value for money and I'd encourage anyone who's been thinking about it to sign up, you won't be disappointed. Thanks again Louise

Bought as a treat for my mum for mothers day, we had a brilliant time, Louise explained each step of making our pots brilliantly and couldn't have been more enthusiastic and passionate about her craft, we look forward to getting our finished work. It was just me and my friend who went to the class, the studio setting was ideal and we were shown how to make a mug shaped pot and a bowl Louise the session leader / potter helped us where we needed it and we both enjoyed it - we are going back in a few weeks to paint them

Louise is a superb teacher. She breaks down a multifaceted task simply, from centring to handholds. More than that, she has the innate ability to read your needs and capability, then fill in any gaps, making it a stressless, gentle and fun experience.

We had an absolutely fantastic wheel throwing pottery experience for my teenager’s birthday. It was something my daughter had wanted to do for ages and it more than lived up to expectations. Louise was the perfect teacher, knowing exactly when to step in and support and when to allow us to ‘take the wheel’. Everybody in our group got a chance at working through each stage of the process and came out with something they were super proud of. Louise made it totally engaging and allowed the 3 teenagers in our group a real sense of independent accomplishment - which is no mean feat. I’d totally recommend it as as a unique, therapeutic, fun and creative alternative to more typical days out.

I booked the class for my husbands birthday. He was very excited about doing it, but I was very apprehensive - I don't like getting my hands messy and I havent a very good memory so was anxious about remembering the instructions! However, I need not have worried. Louise, our teacher was so friendly, welcoming and helped us every step of the way. She was so encouraging and puts you totally at ease. She is also extremely patient.
Another plus is that the classes are small, having only up to 4 people in each class.
I would thoroughly recommend booking a pottery class with Louise, and am confident you will not be disappointed

On this website the maximum that can be rated is 5 stars for a 'great' experience - and I believe this does Louise a disservice! There should be the option to choose 'spectacular' or 'phenomenal' because I think that is more better suited. My mum and I smiled the entire time. Our teacher was hilarious, interesting, and extremely informative. Her personality really added an additional layer to what was already bound to be a fun time. I learnt about the event talking to a stranger in a yoga class, and they spoke about how amazing this ceramics class was, and so I instantly booked a session, and was not disappointed in any way! The venue was also easy to find, and the classes are very small so Louise is always available to help if required. Thank you for your help Louise, and we will see you again in April!

The Pottery session was a birthday gift for my husband. We found the studio and parked in the quiet street nearby. We were welcomed by the lovely Louise and felt very relaxed in this small group - 4 people. After introductions we watched a demonstration that made it all seem easy. Our technique needs more work, but we were there for an enjoyable experience. We created 2 pots which I'm very pleased with and will return another time to add a painted finish.
I left feeling pleased with myself, content and relaxed.

I'd wanted to try for ages so I asked for a voucher for Christmas and I was not disappointed. Louise is very welcoming and friendly. She made the class fun and I cannot tell you how much I loved it! I made a cup and a bowl and I can't wait for them to be fired, glazed and back in my hands. I'd definitely recommend it, it's inspired me to find a course to learn more. Thanks Louise!

This class was brilliant! There were three of us that went and all very much enjoyed it! Louise was so helpful and has a super friendly and outgoing personality. This class is definitely worth the money and I look forward to going back and painting our cups and bowls! Louise also takes videos throughout the session which is absolutely lovely to look back on.

my sister and i booked the class as a treat for our birthday. it was the first time we had ever tried pottery and it was great. Louise was lovely, so helpful and an amazing teacher. She explained each step really well, and showed us what to do. the whoke class was great and we were both so pleased with what we made. we did a bowl and a mug each and are going to go back and paint them in a few weeks. i would absolutely recommend trying it.

This is the third time I have attended one of Louise’s workshops with my mum. As always we had a fantastic time and enjoyed the challenge of creating the bird feeder. All materials needed are provided and Louise is great at inspiring you with ideas as well as guiding you through each stage. Her passion for pottery shines through which makes you love it too! We will definitely be back for a future workshop :-)

A birthday treat for me and my daughter making a clay bird feeder. Louise is brilliant and very enthusiastic and made the session very enjoyable. teacher was very welcoming and accommodating. It was absolutley fantastic that it was small class with only four of us. the venue was easy to find and so was parking.
Made a mug and a bowl which looks great. paid a little extra to have them 'burnt' if thats the correct term, which is absolutely reasonable.
The venue was small but tidy, and comfortable for the five of us.
The teacher was very knowledgeable and helped every step of the way.

What a fantastic introduction to throwing clay, you end up with recognisable pottery from your first throw. Louise takes away the pain, making it a joy. You get the chance to try the tricky bits, without using your whole lesson having to master them. We did the class as a family group, this was so relaxing and Louise was like a hawk, picking up any issues before they became unrecoverable. We even booked up to go back to paint our own designs on at a later date. We would all definitely recommend this class.

I booked a workshop for my mum and sister as a Christmas present and we all had a great time. The pottery is fabulous with a really relaxed and calming atmosphere and Louise was wonderful. She explained everything brilliantly, kept us laughing the whole way through, and was considerate of my physical disabilities, making sure I was able to get as much out of the class as everyone else. There was just the 3 of us there so we got lots of hands on time. I would definitely recommend Louise’s workshop to anyone considering giving pottery/wheel throwing a try. We’ll be back soon to decorate our mugs and bowls!

The whole experience from start to finish was excellent. Louise makes you feel very relaxed so that you enjoy the whole experience and demonstrates everything with great detail.
