Amazing! Fun, beginner-friendly class with the lovely and patient Jen. Very much enjoyed myself making my first tote bag, great selection of second-hand materials to work from and I loved the sustainable approach too. I look forward to returning for future classes

Such an amazing class, it was so much fun! As a complete beginner, Jen’s patience and enthusiasm made me feel really relaxed and supported. If you’ve been thinking about learning to sew, I’d definitely recommend!

Lucy Harding May 2026

Such a fun class - Jen is a great teacher and helps build confidence sewing so quickly!

Christina Malcolm May 2026

Amazing class - I learnt to make some cool culottes/ trousers from scratch, and picked my own fabric and sizes. Jen, the teacher, is so good at coaching and overseeing while helping build your own confidence and course correcting when needed. She has ALL the resources you could possible need and creates a chilled (therapeutic?) atmosphere to be creative and relaxed. Everyone works at their own pace and does their own garment, but Jen comes around to support. I’ll be going back to make more things - it’s a great way of learning, making and keeping something spesh.

Jen is amazing!! Can't wait to book another set of classes :D

Orlaith McDonagh May 2026

Jen was so lovely and knowledgeable, I now have a really solid building block for creating trousers from scratch going forward, and I'm really excited to add lots of bells and whistles going forward. We had the chance to try on and fit the toiles to our exact preferences, something I would have found impossible to do by myself, and learning in a group meant that we got to see lots more alterations in process than just our own particular requirements. It was a 10/10 experience!

I really enjoyed my Upcycling course with Jen. Fun atmosphere and lovely fellow students too. I definitely progressed in my sewing as a result and am planning on doing the 6 week course later in the year. Kind and supportive tutor in a lighthearted environment.

Very enjoyable 1-2-1 tuition looking at a shirt I had made allowed for several improvements to be made to the pattern for future use. A great way to learn about pattern fitting.

Bridget Bryden Apr 2026

I wanted to learn to draft a shirt. Jen was really helpful and clear in explaining the process as why we did things a certain way.

Sara Teles Apr 2026

You can easily fix a couple of clothing items in this course. Jen is a great teacher and she has lots of resources available and ideas to modify your items and create the effect you want!

Jen gave amazing guidance so I could change some dresses to fit me better and mend a broken strap. I definitely recommend Jen's classes to beginner sewers like me, who want to start making their wardrobe work for them!

Mae Douglas Mar 2026

Jen was quietly efficient in my session. We quickly transferred a commercial pattern into a toile and then worked on this to suit my needs. Within the 2.5hrs we had transferred the altered toile shape onto the pattern block. I came away with new skills and understanding as well as a block trouser pattern to use at home. It was a relaxing, enjoyable and informative class.

Kateryna Kuzmenko Mar 2026

Pattern drafting with Jen during our 1:1 was great! It was interesting, easy to follow and yielded amazing results. It was my dream to learn how to make the basic blocks for my body shape and thanks to these classes it has come true. Jen accepted the added challenge of teaching me with my 7 months old baby present and was very friendly and patient with us. I highly recommend learning from Jen, couldn’t wish for a better experience.

I am delighted to have covered so much in my first 1:1 drafting session with Jen. I have come away with a bodice block and several tips and demo pieces for adapting my trouser block to existing patterns and techniques to move towards Jean making. Jen is so knowledgeable, explains each step and is very patient and helpful. I would definitely recommend this class.

Grace Gielink Feb 2026

This class was perfect with a laid back and supportive atmosphere. It made me feel a lot more confident working with my machine and curbing frustrations I’d encountered while trying to sew before on my own. I want to come back to Jen’s multi-day classes to make more :) also, in general I really believe in Jen’s philosophy toward fashion and reuse and I’m glad to have found a place that puts these practices into action.

Thoroughly enjoyable workshop. I wasn’t sure how I would get on when I hadn’t touched a sewing machine since Home Economics in S2 some 30-something years ago! Jen is a lovely person and an excellent teacher - patient, kind and encouraging! Book this class… you won’t regret it! Great introduction to using a sewing machine. You can’t have enough tote bags. Some gorgeous fabrics to choose from.

Linda McGarrigle Feb 2026

Went along with my own project I needed some extra time and support with. Jen was friendly, patient and able to provide me with expert knowledge to help my move my sewing project to the final stages. The studio is a great place to work, and Jen makes you feel right at home the moment you get there.

With the professional help and creativity of Jenifer, I learned how to add length to a pair of trousers by attaching ruffles to the hem and gained ideas on customizing other garments. I have been in a few of her classes, and I always learn something new. I love her approach to teaching

Great weekend making trousers with Jen and others. I am a complete basic so messaged Jen beforehand to see what skills I might need to practice before the lessons. She gave me a couple of exercises which helped a lot as I felt a lot more confident going into the first day. Would definetely reccomend to a fellow beginner; Jen let's you go at your own pace and explains every step in great detail. I might not have mastered by own pair of trousers, but I feel very confident to go and alter my pattern on my own now. I'd highly reccomend :)

Kate Allen Feb 2026

Really useful class: Jen explains really well - her classes are very enjoyable - she has so much patience and good humour
- great atmosphere!

Jesse Jan 2026

I signed up to the class as a complete beginner who had never used a sewing machine before and I had such a great time. The step by step instructions were really clear, it was a relaxed and supportive atmosphere in a small group so Jen had ample time to support everyone. She is such a lovely and patient teacher. It really helped me to do the intro to the sewing machine and she also extended our last session by 30-60ms so everyone would have time to complete their project. I'm so happy with what I made, I can't believe I managed to create it in just three weeks. This has given me the bug and I will try and make another vest at home by myself.

I attended a class on making a reversible vest warmer from leftover fabric made of Merino wool and silk, where the fabric was provided for an extra £10, or you could bring your own fabric and pay an extra £5 if you want to keep the pattern. I learned a new skill on how to apply wadding to fabric with the expert advice of Jane. With her relaxed approach to teaching, she encourages being creative with your project. I would recommend this class as you will leave with a wearable warmer that will be unique to you :)

Jen was the best of teachers. She was calm, clear and really helpful. Lots of 1-1 advice and help to get the perfect fit, and I learnt so much from also watching her help my classmates. Great fun, relaxed 2 days. Delighted with my trouser block, and confident to use it and even to make one for my daughter. Great coffee shops nearby too! Can't wait to go back for more learning.

Jen is so lovely. She is very knowledgeable and I have learned so much over the weekend. I am really excited to make a pair of trousers from my block.

I loved this class and feel that with Jen’s patience, incredible knowledge and guidance the 3D nature of pattern fitting is now beginning to make sense. I learnt how to alter a trouser block, add pockets, a fly zip, pleats or darts and a wide leg. I also learnt that by altering one portion of a pattern how this impacts other areas. I have come away with the knowledge of how to make up a pair of trousers that fit my body incorporating all of the elements mentioned above. I’m delighted with the pattern I have created.

I’ve loved all my 1:1 pattern drafting lessons with Jen. She’s a lovely young woman who has a huge knowledge of her craft and is a real inspiration. I’ve read lots of books and watched numerous videos about pattern drafting but nothing compares to the personal teaching I received from Jen. I now have my own bodice, sleeve, skirt and pants blocks as well as a dress and culotte play suit drafted. If you’re undecided about booking a lesson with Jen, deliberate no longer, do it now you’ll not regret it!

I attended trouser block making course over 4 weeks.I learnt to draft a trouser block using my measurements.I then made a calico toile(mock up) and adapted this first toile to fit the areas that were still not sitting right/comfortable.I then amended the block pattern and have made a second toile to reflect the changes, required.I have one tiny tweak to go to finish the block for a perfect fit.
Jen was very organised, patient, knowledgeable and the class was relaxed but focused.I loved doing this class and have signed up for the follow up class on how to fit and adapt trouser patterns.

Tessa Grafton Nov 2025

Really enjoyed my private lesson with Jen. She planned the lesson according to my ability/experience really well and I’ve gone away with more confidence and understanding of sewing. Jen really generously shared some scraps and elastic for me to take home and practice. Her manner was really gentle and encouraging. She was attentive and hands on but knew when to step in and help me out.

I took the trouser pattern drafting course and really enjoyed it. Jen is a lovely person and a kind and patient teacher. I learnt how to draft a pair of trousers from scratch and started learning how to make amendments to the pattern. The studio was really well equipped and I didn't need to bring any materials to class which was brilliant. Jen even had a supply of fabrics for us to pick from. I really enjoyed learning how to pattern draft and also being in a friendly class with other sewists.

Erin Shepherd Jul 2025

Jen was patient and knowledgeable which is great considering I'm a complete beginner. I loved that you could work on any project you wanted and everything you could possibly need was provided. I took in a top and learned to darn over moth holes in my favourite jumper. Wish there was a couple more weeks to go!

Carol Edward Jul 2025

I booked a session with Jen as I have been a dressmaker for ages but wanted to reach the next level in terms of fit and pattern alterations. Jen was very friendly and I immediately felt at ease with her. We worked through the process of making a toile and the alterations required to ensure a bespoke garment. I was very happy with what was achieved and plan to book more sessions. Jen is both patient and knowledgeable. The workshop is well equipped and has plenty of space. I would highly recommend.

I had a great time drafting a skirt block with Jen. Classes are small so you’re able to get one-on-one time with Jen to look at your pattern and adjust it to your body. Jen, as always, was a great teacher and tailored the delivery according to each person’s skill level. I highly recommend this class especially if you’re new to pattern drafting! Thank you so much Jen!
