Sip (no alcohol), paint and make new friends or share some laughter with old friends at this relaxed painting class in London.
Guided by an amazing artist, Abigail, you will go through a painting step by step. Although there will be plenty of instruction, you are more than welcome to go off-piste and add your own unique elements!
You will be using acrylic paints on canvas with occasional use of mixed media just as collage. Don't worry if you've never tried these painting techniques before! No experience is needed and this art class is perfect for newbies who just want to get creative.
When you're on the hunt for things to do in London with your pals, this workshop is sure to tick all the boxes. It's super easy to plan as all the art supplies are provided and drinks are available to buy at the venue.
To ensure an uninterrupted and fun workshop for all participants, we kindly request that attendees arrive on time, as late arrivals exceeding a 10-minute delay will be turned away to avoid disruption to the ongoing class and inconvenience to others.
Kindly note that if the class does not meet the minimum participant count, it is subject to cancellation or rescheduling. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility in such instances. Thank you.

Art Play London was founded by Silva Castellani in 2018, starting in galleries such as Phillips, and pop up venues around London.
Art Play is now a new art studio which opened in East London in February 2022, where children and adults of all ages are free to release their imaginations and inner creativity.
Art Play has a strong focus and the environment and aims to educate children and adults on their environmental impact through art, using a variety of sustainable mediums and materials.
Art Play is part of the worldwide Precious Plastic community which means it will be a plastic collection point for people to drop off their HDPE plastic which would otherwise end up in landfills or the ocean. The plastic is then shredding and melted and turned into useful objects and pieces of art, such as plant pots and coasters.

Wasn’t sure what to expect but it was great The instructor Sophia was very helpful, and we really enjoyed the two hours painting our lemon branch. I would definitely recommend and keen to try other classes too.

I recently hosted my child's 7th birthday party at the ArtPlay Spitalfields, and it was an absolute delight! Abi’s enthusiasm and passion for art was contagious, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. The beautifully decorated party room, personalized painting activities, and well-organized schedule made the experience exceptional. The kids had a blast exploring various art forms, and the parents could relax and enjoy themselves too. It was worth every penny, and I highly recommend the ArtPlay for an unforgettable and inspiring birthday celebration for young artists.

Unfortunately our night didn’t quite go as originally planned. We were moved upstairs into a public space which was cold and with no alternative space to paint in. We had to ask cups for drinks and there was a lack of supplies available given that the set up was a “pop up” style away from the main event space. The girls weren’t set up for the correct number of people which meant a late start to our painting experience but an abrupt finish where a lot of the attendee’s felt rushed and unfinished in what they were working on. As we were situated next to a bar, the bar staff began packing away seating and literally pushed their way by our group which was unnecessary as we did not choose to work in that space. Some of us made the most of the experience however others left feeling understandably frustrated and disappointed due to the miscommunication, the unorganised set up and the lack of guidance throughout the painting session.
