Knowledge required
You should have some machine sewing abilities - know how to wind spool & thread up a machine and have sewn simple projects. Please join a beginner's sewing class if you have no previous machine sewing skills or would like to brush up on skills before joining the beginner's dressmaking class.
What to bring
Please bring in a shop-bought pattern to work from. Please be sure to check the sizes on dress pattern - sometimes they are U.S. sizing and also sometimes small made - you may need a bigger size than what you'd take in a shop.

The Edinburgh Sewcial Club first opened its doors in 2014 teaching dressmaking, sewing and other textiles crafts to people of all ages, levels of ability and experience in evening and weekend classes.Our fun, social classes are a great way to try something new and learn a practical craft and skill! Now, as well as dressmaking and sewing there are also a number of other textile crafts taught, beading, embroidery, upcycling & mending even fleece mermaid tail blankets! Our 'sewcial club' is a friendly environment to get creative!Come and discover what you can do!
