Art Play London was founded by Silva Castellani in 2018, starting in galleries such as Phillips, and pop up venues around London.
Art Play is now a new art studio which opened in East London in February 2022, where children and adults of all ages are free to release their imaginations and inner creativity.
Art Play has a strong focus and the environment and aims to educate children and adults on their environmental impact through art, using a variety of sustainable mediums and materials.
Art Play is part of the worldwide Precious Plastic community which means it will be a plastic collection point for people to drop off their HDPE plastic which would otherwise end up in landfills or the ocean. The plastic is then shredding and melted and turned into useful objects and pieces of art, such as plant pots and coasters.

We really enjoyed painting but the lecture went too fast. I felt like we were rushing to finish the painting and the drinks. Not a relaxing vibe but still recommend to everyone who wants to try.

We came to the sip and paint class for a hen do and it was perfect. Art Play is located in the Old Spitalfields Market which is a beautiful building and there was a great atmosphere. Our teacher was lovely and managed to guide us through to produce something which we were all proud of. We had a fantastic time and would absolutely recommend!

I highly recommend the 'sip and paint' experience. We organised a session for my birthday and it went down a treat. Very generous with the bottomless proseccos! The staff were warm, engaging and created a relaxed environment. The only downside was our facilitator did have to leave our class early and left us to our own devices. The only other critique is that they need to provide more hangers for the coat rack on a busy day. If those were the only criticisms, you are sure in for a fabulous time! Would definitely come again as everyone at my party really enjoyed themselves!

They do not reserve seats for bookings. We booked as a 5 but there was not enough space left on one table so had to sit back to back which wasn’t ideal.
Teacher was nice, but he was very rushed at the end.

Has such a fun experience at the sip and paint class (bottomless Prosecco and Harry Potter themed). The teacher was so lovely and patient with everyone, especially as everyone got louder and louder as the session went on. I was very worried the painting chosen was too difficult to recreate but the instructions were so simple each step we were so impressed with our end results Loved it and would 100% recommend The staff were all so friendly and welcoming.

- It is a directed class though you are more than free to do what ever you want during the session. You won't know what you will be painting until you get there and so if you book on a holiday you may well be given a holiday themed session.

Great painting experience here. The staff are all really friendly and welcoming. A good mix of people, both groups and singles. Glasses were kept well filled with prosecco. I haven't painted for over 25 years and have never used acrylic paint before, the instructor was helpful with tips. I would definitely go again for another painting session.

This was my first time at this event, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The teacher was helpful and great at guiding us through the lesson, from giving us an image to painting along with us. That was helpful for me as I had no clue what I was going to draw and how I would do it. The venue was a little loud because other classes were going on, so it was hard to hear from the teacher at times. It's a great place to do something different and unwind. I'd come back to try out some of the other classes.

a little disappointed as when I purchase the voucher it stated bottomless prosecco, however when we got there, we only got offered 1 glass to then find out we only get a welcoming glass, clearly false advertisement. I asked for some water and got ignored. I bought the ticket as a birthday present for a friend, the bottomless prosecco was part of the experience which we never got to have, the painting was ok.

The teacher was excellent, she showed us exactly paints we needed to mix and the order in which to paint. Nice venue in the centre of Old Spitalfields Market, lots of buzz and noise. Great atmosphere, but probably aimed more at small groups than solos.
You don't have a choice before the session of what is painted, would be better if the booking said what the painting was going to be.

A truly colourful experience! It was fun and educational as Luca the teacher was instructing us to use the paint and brushes accordingly whilst the prosecco was flowing on and on by very friendly and smiley staffit was great and worthy, I'll definitely return for more! It can get addictive and it was a very quick 2 hours (immersing inside the world of our canvas!). Keep it up! My friend loved it too and we will book our next session soon!

I initially booked this class as a birthday present for my best friend, and it ended up being, I quote, "one of the best birthday gifts she had ever received". The prosecco was delicious, and our teacher, Abi, facilitated the nicest, most peaceful, and most encouraging evening (considering neither I nor my friend are visual artists). Abi started off the class by showing us basic techniques for painting with watercolour and then essentially left us to our own creativity, occasionally checking in to answer questions, share examples to inspire us, and commenting in the kindest and most encouraging way on what we had created. The evening was such a peaceful, fun escape from the hustle and bustle and stress of London. I couldn't recommend more

We really enjoyed this experience! The venue was great and the teacher was good, giving hints on techniques and how to use brushes and mix colours. Really fun evening. Abi was a great teacher and helped even the least artistic amongst us (!) produce a great autumnal landscape. Will definitely be coming back!

I went to ArtPlay for a Sip and Paint session with friends this past weekend and it was such a cool experience. We love our paintings and the instructions were really clear. The only negative thing, was that I was under the impression that it was more of a private class but it wasn’t, it was very busy with a lot of others who weren’t in the group for casual painting, which caused it be quite loud. For the price you pay, I would of expected it to be more private, however this may of been a mistake by me not reading up on it properly. Would definitely do it again though and would recommend!

The session was great, our teacher was so engaging and interactive and got me painting like Van Gough by the end.
I did think the session was pricey initially but the sound of “pop” very 10 or so minutes soothed my fears as my glass was never empty.

Such a great experience and something different to do with friends! Went for the bottomless sip and paint, Prosecco was flowing and the instructor was great. Really easy to follow along with, without feeling like a classroom! Would definitely recommend

Really enjoyed the sip and paint class. The teacher was friendly and helpful and we were provided with all the materials we needed. We were quite a big group so the space was a bit cramped but everyone was friendly and concentrating on creating their masterpieces.

Everything fantastic from from the art tutor, to the cool venue, the paint supplies and of course the endless bubbles! The lady who was on hand to assist, answer any questions etc was brilliant!

The teacher and restaurant staff were friendly. The space for the workshop was nice. There were seven of us so the teacher could give each of us enough attention.

The space was really warm so everyone on my table was sweating.
The teacher was really nice but we couldn’t see the example painting we were all meant to be looking at.
There were a lot of helper/employees from the start but half way through almost all of them disappeared to another class and it was just the teacher having to not only teach the class but also make sure everyone was okay, answered questions, topped up paints and material. And it was a group of about 30 people.
We were told it was busier than it usually was. By the end of the class we all just kind of winged it and it was a bit of a rush.
Fun experience, friendly people but not super organised.

Felt a bit rushed during the session and the teacher was not very helpful on most occasions when asked for suggestions/help. The teacher was painting with us but didn't necessarily care about how we could improve ours.
So, would definitely not recommend if you're amateur thought the description says otherwise.
Too pricey for the kind of experience we had.

Good space set up with good quality tools.
Teacher was fun and engaging and came round to give tips to those who wanted. Was very surprised that I actually managed to paint what I was supposed to!
One note, the bar woman had zero customer service, didn’t see her smile the whole time. Any question I asked she seemed annoyed and shocked that she had to answer.

Great class - the teacher was super patient even with lots of requests from the group and a few prosecco fuelled accidents. She had a lot of tips and kept things calm and enjoyable.
The venue was good but it was very hot because of the weather so a few fans would've been great. The rest of the guys working there were super attentive though with drinks etc and the atmosphere was fun.
A lovely little activity to do on a Saturday night!

This art class was amazing and so inspiring I've always wanted to do a painting class and this exceeded my expectations. Our teacher Sophia was great at explaining and taking us through the steps and so lovely and patient with us. The materials were good quality and it was my first time painting on a canvas but my result was surprisingly better than I thought it would be! I was very proud of my painting of a vine of lemons. I definitely recommend and will be booking another class in future.

Had a fantastic afternoon sip and paint with added bonus of bottomless proscecco. Venue was very spacious and resources were excellent. Simon our tutor for the afternoon was awesome and made the session really enjoyable even got a novice. Left with my masterpiece and felt like I had accomplished something.

We originally booked for an immersive class that was due to start at 8pm, only to be emailed at 6:40pm that we had been moved to a 7pm class. With no other warning or communication we were unsure if this was in error and had no way of getting up to the class in time for 7pm. We arrived at 8pm as planned and were told that the venue would only be open for another hour, in which we could do our own thing and paint if we wanted.
The staff were very apologetic and friendly, I'm grateful they made accomodations for us but considering we had paid for a fun teaching experience, we were just left to our own devices and were left quite frustrated and disappointed.

Bottomless Prosecco is really good value for money. However, it seems the acoustics are not ideal in the new studio. We could not hear the teacher very well although we were not sitting that far. So it was hard to follow the instructions.

Simon's class was wonderful. He took the time to guide us as a group and one to one. The class gives you plenty space for us to explore, get lost in painting whilst the prosecco flowed generouly enough to skewer the eye a little. The painting session was really good fun.

Very nice moment to have fun and doing something artistic. Nice atmosphere, the Barbie them was cool and I appreciated the glass of Prosecco. The teacher was friendly and it was easy to follow him to draw and paint the subject. Everyone can assist to the lesson, no matter your level. :))

Such a great activity - I've already been twice.
All material was provided so it's a good way to experience painting without having to buy all the equipment and supplies. The paintings are beginner friendly and the teacher was easy to follow. You get to top up the paint when you run out so not limited to what's given to you at the start.
The bottomless champagne was also truly bottomless. There is an assistant going around topping up glasses throughout the whole class.

Very poorly organised. We reached there however no one checked our tickets, so didn’t know what slot we booked on for. No one assisted to find any canvas paints. Just pointed us and said go figure it out. We paid for the bottomless experience but were not given a seat with the rest of the people. We sat behind with others so were so far from the man teaching. They didn’t know we needed Prosecco so received our first glass at 3:40 when the event started at 3pm. The lady sitting across us spilt her drink all over the table and us and no one came to help clean.
On a good note, once they gave us our first drink, they apologised for the delay and said they will ensure our drink is always topped up.

This was a really fun class and our tutor Simon was great. Overall a very fun experience. He was informative and fun. The Prosecco top ups were fantastic and really on the ball.
As for improvements, it seemed a bit disorganised. There wasn’t enough space to sit down and everyone was crammed in so much (more so in other sections). We almost weren’t able to sit together because of it. I do think this should be more organised with allocated seating so there aren’t any gaps and for safety and comfortablity reasons.
The easels were slippery and so quite a few peoples easels fell over. Thankfully no water was spilled. My plus ones paint brush came apart, so it would be good if there were better quality paint brushes (they were very old and frayed).
It would be good if new paint or water was brought around as it was difficult to get out of seats (over crowded) especially if you were in the middle and didn’t know anyone on the end who could have got it for you.

My friends and I booked this on a time out deal and had a really fantastic night. None of us would say we are artistic but the teacher Simon was brilliant. He broke it down in a clear step by step process and our paintings were better than we thought they would be! The bottomless prosecco was a bonus and they were not shy on topping up our glasses. Overall great experience for the price of the deal.

We had such a fantastic time at Art Play We are a small team of 12 and decided to get creative for an afternoon. The complimentary glass of Prosecco was a really nice touch and our teacher Simon was so welcoming! As well as being a great teacher, Simon added some whimsy and fun and was great chat. We now have 12 vibrant works of art to brighten up our office. I highly recommend Art Play as a team social/bonding trip!

All good except for arrival experience! The address on maps is wrong and then the address in old shop window is also wrong meaning we went into a shop who had to tell us where to go.
The class itself if brilliant though! You need to arrive early to get seats together though.

Had a lovely painting session with Luca. He was a great host and led us through the painting well. He came round and checked everyone was doing okay, and gave us suggestions for how to improve. The place was nice and easy to find. We all left with some great paintings and everything really enjoyed it! All the staff were very friendly. You can take your own drinks and snacks. Definitely would recommend.

Really enjoyed this Paint and Sip class! Abby the instructor gave the right amount of direction while also letting us get on with the painting. I'm a novice when it comes to art so I did feel like I learned a few things.
Someone occasionally came round to top up our glasses of prosecco which was nice, and the art supplies provided were good and we received good advice on using them appropriately. A great evening, I would highly recommend.

I really enjoy painting here as I learned different techniques in just two hours. The coaches are experienced and patient and the atmosphere is very satisfying. But the only thing to remind is that there may be too many people in the class and the air is very hot.

Teacher was great, went at a good pace for beginners and a lovely person. Learned some good techniques for impressionism using acrylic paint. Lovely studio, would be great if there was more space per person so we're not bumping arms. No problems with materials provided. Wish there was more interaction between students, every one just kept to themselves. There should be 8-12 week course available at a discounted rate with smaller class sizes - I'd pay!

I recently attended a painting class and it was an absolute treat. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and at ease. The instructor, Abbey, was a true professional and had a wealth of knowledge to share. Her explanations were clear and concise, making it easy to follow along and understand the techniques she was teaching.
What I appreciated most about Abbey was her ability to guide us through the class with patience and encouragement. She provided helpful feedback and suggestions while also allowing us the freedom to express our own creativity. Her passion for painting was infectious, and it was clear that she genuinely enjoyed sharing her skills with others.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience in the painting class and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and engaging way to explore their artistic side. Abbey was an exceptional instructor who made the experience even more enjoyable. A very nice concept but this was severely overpriced. The paints and brushes were very cheap and poor quality.
The class leader left all the participants waiting outside for 15 mins before letting us in. We then waited an hour until we were served, with several people hinting that we hadn’t been served any Prosecco or wine which were included in the ticket price.
The class was then ended about 25 minutes earlier than the original end time for us to clean our brushes so we could finish on time. Given the price of a ticket and how late the class started this was an outrageous request

Venue was great, love the experience and it was my first time, and will do it again.
On the other side, I was expecting more communication from the teacher and for her to be more hands on with each person at some points during the process to teach more about technic, there was plenty of time to do it since there were a lot of moments of silence. Also, the brushes were not very good, they are very worn down.

Was not interested with abstrait painting, at all. Would have been better if organiser could share what kind of painting we would be doing, before we book the session

This was for a hen do.
Our teacher Abby was really good, took us through each step & guided us.
Venue was cool, spacious & the added bonus of a dog!
materials were provided & in good condition.
Could have been abit cheaper. Especially for bottomless prosecco & that we asked for a private class however, a couple of people joined in the room with us but no big qualm about that.
We painted the mountains & river picture.
Everyone had fun & it was a different experience.

we attended the guided sip and paint class. It was really relaxing and the guide was pretty helpful. The brief said we'll get a free drink on arrival, but we were'nt given anything. That was the only disappointment.

We had a great time for my friend’s hen party. The venue was clean and welcoming, the teacher and staff were friendly, informative and really helpful. It was a great activity which I highly recommend to all :)

It was a very relaxed class, we didn’t notice how time went by. This was my first time painting, and I enjoyed it! I find painting very therapeutic for this reason. Thank you to the class leader!

Really lovely painting class, very therapeutic and relaxing, great for a date activity. The teacher was helping with advise on how to improve the paintings. The ‘bottemless’ could have been a bit more flowing.

We had a great time at ArtPlay doing the sip and paint class. We did a private event for 14 people. All materials were provided, the painting we did was fun and original and the resident artist was so great in leading us through the painting. We particularly loved that we mixed our own paint colours and everyone's painting turned out unique which was so much fun. We also loved the venue (Old Spitalfields market) and the relaxed atmosphere. It was also so nice to be able to bring our own food and drink, it's rare that you get that kind of flexibility from a venue and it made everything so easy. It was also really fantastic value for money. We all had a great time and everyone left saying they'd love to do it again!

I went here with 3 of my friends who I used to go to art class with when we were teens. Brought so many great memories - the Prosecco made it fun too. But didn't need to drink much to have a good time. The teacher guided us through, giving tips and techniques along the way. And SO much encouragement, I felt like a true artist. Can't wait to check the other classes Art Play offer

Teacher was really enthusiastic about art and trying new styles which was transferred through to the class. It was very stress relieving to just try new art style with the teacher's guidance and encouragement! Very fun class!

It is quite expensive for what if actually was. I would suggest either lowering the price and keeping it the sane or have it prepared when people arrive and offer more.

All the experience was really nice and I enjoyed. The tracer was helpful and knowledge. 2h went really fast and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed.

ArtPlay were absolutely ace. We had a private paint and sip class for a mixed hen do group, and it was absolutely perfect! Abbie was a brilliant teacher, and was really patient with us. A very fun session!
The communication with ArtPlay was great beforehand - very happy all round.

A lot of people in the class, not sure if it was over subscribed! There was a room share so there was a lot of banging noise from some craft makers. Drinks topped up as when we asked. Teacher was ok, helpers were more friendly. All in all a fun experience. Felt a bit rushed towards the end as we started 45 mins late. Could’ve been more organised with having everything ready eg aprons / paints before people arrived.

Came here with some girlfriends and we had so much fun and super pleased with our art work.
Only thing was the drinks were at the bar next door. However they said from next week it's bottomless prosecco which sounds wonderful

Lovely indoor venue, nicely set up. The teacher/ artist was amazing. She took the time to give us individual feedback. Relaxed atmosphere. A glass of fizz was included. I would recommend :)

Really, really disappointed - this shouldn’t be called a painting “class”. The teacher didn’t provide any guidance whatsoever, she was not engaged and spent most of her time on the phone. We haven’t been offered drinks, the venue was not ready when we arrived, we had to ask for equipment (like cup of water and brushes). The venue was terrible as well, and very cold.

The venue moved/ The bar was closed, so we’re told we would need to leave if we wanted any further drinks (as we were only given 1 glass of Prosecco) which was disappointing given everyone there just wanted to some Prosecco with friends!. It also seemed a little unorganised, given we were shown a photo of the painting on someone’s phone. It was fun but wasn’t blown away

Venue was nice and close to shops. In a beautiful market.
Teacher was engaging and really good at teaching. Real positive and a great help to escape into this activity from the world.
Cocktails were lovely.
Nothing bad I could ever say totally worth it.
