Women’s Silk & Stillness Evening
A small women’s creative wellbeing evening with gentle movement, mindful breathing, and silk painting.
Join us for a calm evening space for women to slow down, release the day, and reconnect through gentle movement and creative making.
We begin with around 30 minutes of guided wellbeing practice, starting with simple breathing and relaxation. Depending on the session, this may include Pilates, yoga, tai chi, or another gentle movement practice led in collaboration with a local teacher or studio.
After this, we move into a relaxed silk painting session. You will be guided through the process step by step, using prepared outlines to create your own silk art card.
The silk painting part includes around 45 minutes of demonstration and guided practice, followed by around an hour to complete your own piece.
No art experience is needed. The movement is gentle, the painting is beginner-friendly, and there is no pressure to perform, share, or get anything “right”.

Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 4 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we may cancel the session; if that happens, we'll inform you and let you choose between a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.

The Pilates at the start with Rachel was really lovely, and the painting was such fun and taught very well. The tea and cake was a lovely touch! Super friendly group and I would highly recommend and would love to go back. Thanks

  • 5/5 from Sadie Marie Barron, attended Oct 2025: I have done a few workshops now. Really enjoy learning the techniques used in silk painting. I have a love for textiles, so this is right up my street. These classes are so unwinding, love the movement section and then onto the painting which is mesmerising. Time always flies. Would highly recommend if your into art, crafts, textiles, etc. 5 starts
  • 5/5 from Pauline McGowan, attended Sep 2025: A fantastic evening! I loved it. It was very relaxing and friendly. Mui explained everything so clearly and was really helpful showing us how to use the silk paints to make cards. So I learned something new! The Tai Chi was such a bonus. I felt so much better after this class. Thanks!
  • 5/5 from Rachael Plowman, attended Sep 2025: What a wonderful evening thank you. I enjoyed the movement session first and then the lovely painting guided by Mandy who is a great teacher. I feel refreshed and destressed. I really enjoy silk painting. Thank you.
  • 5/5 from Elizabeth Butcher, attended Sep 2025: Thank you Mandy for a very pleasant and relaxing evening. It was a real treat to have some authentic Chinese tea. I loved the Tai Chi. It was a good way to get to know everyone in the group as well as having health benefits. Thank you so much for the silk painting lessons, it was interesting to learn all the different techniques and then to paint our own card. I would certainly recommend the class as I loved it and will certainly be booking another or popping into the studio. (I don’t know where the rose aromatherapy came from, but I am glad we did the Tai Chi instead).
  • 5/5 from Linda Grassick, attended Sep 2025: I had a very relaxing and enjoyable evening learning new skills and would highly recommend
  • 5/5 from Barbara Noble, attended Aug 2025: I had a lovely, relaxing time. Very friendly and Mandy is an excellent teacher. I will be going back for more
  • 5/5 from Katie Cruickshank, attended Aug 2025: Attended the women's unwinding session and what an enjoyable evening it was. After a short Thai Chi session we went on to do a silk painting. Now I'm no artist, in fact I struggle to do any form of craft work, but silk painting is so easy and fun; very therapeutic if you've had a bad day. Many so accommodating and her studio is a pure haven for peace and calm.
  • 5/5 from Sinardet Emmanuelle, attended Aug 2025: A very nice evening in very good company with a great teacher. I can paint now!
  • 5/5 from Agnes Campan, attended Aug 2025: I recently attended a 2-hour silk painting workshop and was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed it. As someone who doesn’t consider herself artistic—and usually struggles with anything involving handcraft—I went in with low expectations. But I left with a big smile and a beautiful handmade card! The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, which made it easy to let go of any pressure. Miu was fantastic—so supportive, patient, and encouraging throughout. She created a space where everyone, regardless of skill level, felt comfortable exploring their creativity. I never imagined I’d enjoy painting this much, but this workshop proved me wrong. It was a lovely way to spend a couple of hours, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone curious about silk painting, even if you think you’re “not good at it.” You might just surprise yourself!
