SHEEN POTTERY was started in 2001 by potter Lindy Barletta in an industrial workshop, things have moved on since then and we have a beautiful, calm and creative, high street studio in London SW14. It is a relaxing hub & must visit studio for anyone wanting to learn the joys making in clay. Lindy has taught for 25 years, many students going on to become keen potters with their own studios. Clay makes us happy, you use your head, hands and heart to make a pot and we are waiting to share this delightful experience with you. All classes are taught by professional trained potters who have a passion for teaching, sharing their love of ceramics and their knowledge for this ancient and traditional craft with you. Tailor made fun, creative and challenging group sessions can be booked for 6-12 people.We provide classes, courses and studio membership, suitable for all levels, including beginners to advanced. On ClassBento we are offering the Introductory Taster Session which is a fun 2.5 hour session with a maximum of 6 students. You will receive excellent one to one tutor time and the small group size allows for an intimate and in depth experience, allowing you to really focus on learning the skills required to make on the potters wheel. You will have fun, there will be laughter, shared joy and probably a little bit of mess!You can keep your best or favorite 2 master pieces and choose one of the 20 beautiful studio glaze colours for us to later fire and apply. The ceramic process takes time, after being made on the wheel, the pots are dried slowly, bisque fired to become ceramic, glazed by our studio technician and then high fired again to melt the glaze onto the pot.
