Want to learn a practical DIY craft? Kick start a new hobby? This fun full-day sewing class for teens will give you the skills and knowledge you need to sew with ease. Once you've learnt the basics, you'll make your own envelope cushion or tote bag.
This sewing class in Edinburgh will help you become familiar with the basics of machine sewing and help you build your confidence using a domestic sewing machine before moving on to a simple sewing project.
During your sewing class you will:
- Learn about threading a sewing machine, winding and inserting a bobbin.
- Build confident driving skills on a sewing machine.
- Learn about fabric qualities and various machine stitches.
- Use your new skills for a small project – making an envelope cushion or tote bag.
First timer sewer? Don't worry, this beginner-friendly Edinburgh craft class will take a leisurely approach so that you have time to soak in all the information and put your knowledge into practice. Class sizes are also kept small to ensure everyone can learn at their own pace and receive ample one-to-one tutor time.
Once you have completed this beginners' class you will be able to confidently move on to an intermediate class with the same teacher to progress further your newfound skills if you'd like to.

The Edinburgh Sewcial Club first opened its doors in 2014 teaching dressmaking, sewing and other textiles crafts to people of all ages, levels of ability and experience in evening and weekend classes.
Our fun, social classes are a great way to try something new and learn a practical craft and skill!
Now, as well as dressmaking and sewing there are also a number of other textile crafts taught, beading, embroidery, upcycling & mending even fleece mermaid tail blankets! Our 'sewcial club' is a friendly environment to get creative!
