We loved this workshop. My 10 yo did this with me too and was able to follow.

Chrissie is a fab teacher giving advice in general on the topic, not just for the class we are doing, which means we can use the skills on other projects.

Good quality supplies provided. I’ve already ordered more though as we kept on crafting after the workshop

I joined this without a specific project in mind but to try and understand as much as possible about what the machine can do (it’s not been long out of the box!) in readiness for when I do want to try something or a moment of inspiration so I would know what supplies I need and to have an idea of where to start. Hannah have lots of tips not solely about infusable ink which was helpful to me and showed us how to use the design space and heat press to make a beautiful coaster. I’d be brave enough to give it a go now! Thanks Hannah x

I had already taken this class earlier this year and still use the bag (it hasn’t fallen apart!) but I’d then not used my machine for ages and as still a beginner I thought I’d join for a refresher as there are always other things that can be learnt from Hannah whilst she is taking you through.

I’m looking forward to more sessions! My 9 year old likes to join in too as we were lucky enough to meet Hannah at a store opening when she taught her to make a scrunchie- Hannah takes it all in her stride and encourages her to learn too! Fab time had by all and a really helpful refresher for me!

Chrissie is very good at explaining in a straightforward way. I was feeling a little scared of my new machine. But this workshop has helped.
Chrissie even helped suggest something to try first as my daughter was looking at some rather complicated projects for my beginner level!
Thanks Chrissie. I’m sure I’ll be on another session soon!

Always enjoy our workshops here.

This workshop for marbles baubles was fab. I was expecting it to be harder to get pretty results but we’ve come away with really lovely baubles.

Abbey is very knowledgable with lots of tips for this and a variety of other projects I’m wanting to try!

Thank you Abbey. See you soon.

My Daughter enjoyed making the tree topper and was happy with the finished result. Relaxed workshop and straightforward to complete. Good value for money.

Another good session. Loved Rugilees enthusiasm. My daughter (9) was the one booked on and enjoyed the tips (and praise) from Rugilee. We did have some other items from our stash that she used too. Kept going all afternoon! Thank you.

Really enjoyed this workshop. Abby is really friendly and welcoming with lots of ideas and being able to experiment with them. Will be making some more at home!

This session was lots of fun. There was a variety of ages on our session and it was great to be able to socialise at the same time as our making.
Everyone was given some ideas but then had the freedom to experiment which was fab. Everyone seemed very happy with their finished products. A great time had by all!

Another brilliant workshop. We really enjoyed our session and catching up. Lots of tips and ideas shared to improve. For this and had the opportunity to talk about other projects we have started or are thinking about. Thank you. Looking forward to our Christmas workshops next.

Another fab workshop, thank you Kathryn.
A (relatively) quick and fun thing to make to continue on skills learnt so far.
As a first attempt I’m pretty happy and will experiment with different colours now.

Found this class really helpful. It was my first attempt at attaching a zip and I’ve not a useful bag to use!
It comes with 3 zips so I’ve got some more to practice with.
Really good and patient direction from Hannah with lots of top tips to transfer onto other projects!
Thank you again x

A really enjoyable session with Hannah again. Thank you!

Practiced with different kind of stitch than previous sessions which was interesting to try and see the difference.

Really happy with the final result

Really enjoyed this class. Kathryn is a brilliant teacher and really made it fun whilst making sure we were ok and understanding what we needed. Thanks again Kathryn :)

I am still a complete beginner… I Found this session really useful. I didn’t know how to change feet or various other things the machine can do! Now I do!
Hannah made sure we’d covered everything we needed at a nice pace and answered lots of questions and gave tips as we went along so that I can take them away to help me practice what I’ve learnt.
Thank you!

Really enjoyed paint pouring today.
Ann was great as always and showed us various different techniques.
It was surprisingly therapeutic and potentially easily addictive!
We “poured” onto 4 canvases today and there is still plenty of paint left to keep experimenting!

My daughter and I had a brilliant time one with Abbey today making pompom bunnies. We love the instore workshops here at Basildon and can’t wait for the next ones!
Thanks all! :-)

I really enjoyed this session. Chrissiee was fab. I started the session having only just unboxed my first machine and using the hobbycraft YouTube clips to set it up. Chrissiee was really patient and supportive and we worked at a good pace to get the most out of the session but also bearing In mind experience level. We completed the bag and I’ve had lots of top tips for a next project and I feel I’ll be able to progress from the start made in this. Can’t wait to book onto the next workshop!

Pyrography was harder than I expected in relation to moving the tool around the wood, so I’m so glad I joined this class.
Chrissie moved at a nice pace. At no stage did I feel rushed or unsure of what to do. It must be hard as a tutor to do these on zoom not knowing exactly what was going on at the other end of the screen when our heads were all down. But at the end everyone’s designs looked fab!

Kathryn was excellent. She started with a group of some that had crochet experience and some (me) that had never picked up a hook before. Whilst I’ve still got to continue (probably over then next few weeks) to complete my blanket, I’ve now the understanding to do this. Which is incredible to be taken from zero knowledge, when I was very worried I’d bitten off more than I could chew, to learn this over zoom. Thank you so much.
I would definitely recommend.

Another lovely time with Ann today, who as always gives fab tips to her makers. Some brilliant monsters made by the end.

Another fab time with Ann today. My daughter has said she loves it as Its just like meeting up with a friend to do crafts! It’s now her favourite thing to do! She’s learning more and more and getting inspiration which she’s taking it home to work on other projects together with me.

Possibly the simplest workshop I’ve completed but well worth it. Easy to follow - my 8 yr old did it with little help from me (we’ve done lots together now). These are looking great on my table.

Once again had a brilliant time in the workshop with Ann. Would fully recommend. Suitable for all abilities.
See you next week!

Lovely class, although many of the supplied pieces were too tall for the baubles - but by the time we realised that it was too late as we’d done the other ones already.
That said, we have come away with some beautiful baubles and have some spare inner pieces and will try to get some of the larger jars to put them in.

The host was lovely. As some had had left their microphones on she was asking questions (eg what crafts we have been up to for Halloween) and giving tips as we went.
It is a lot to do in an hour, so be prepared to need to carry on afterwards or pick up the rest at another time.

Once again we had a fabulous time. I personally think these are fantastic value when you consider that you keep everything in your box and you are getting top tips from the artisan to make your creation even better. On all sessions extra ideas have been given to us by Ann. Today was making the most of something that would have gone in the bin, but was made into something pretty-along with many other helpful tips!
Ann takes a real interest in the crafts we are doing both on the workshop or what we are trying ourselves.
I like looking out over the shop too when doing the workshop.
Back in a couple of weeks for the next one!

The artisan didn’t rush and answered everything asked and more.

That was my first online workshop. I needn’t have been nervous!

My daughter (8) thought she’d try and join in briefly and she could understand how to do it too!

Now practicing with the tags for Xmas presents!

Beginner's Guide to Brush Lettering review by Angela Robinson

Aug 2021

Yesterday my daughter said to me that she hopes Ann is doing the workshop again and she was delighted to see it was Ann again today.
The activity is a little fiddly for a (just) eight year old so I helped her a little. Ann again though was good at explaining and demonstrating the steps and patient with my excited daughter! Ann also talked to her about other crafts she was interested in and also made a point of seeing her before we left to see what she’d bought with her birthday money (which my daughter was made up about Ann seeing her at the end).

We’ve got some bits to finish off on the dream catcher at home and Ann gave us a few ideas/options - but we’ve had a great morning crafting.

My daughter cannot wait until the next workshop!

Thank you again Ann!

Ann was lovely and so encouraging. Really built the confidence of my daughter to try something new and be creative letting her try slightly different ideas - eg adding a tree and a pond to her flower landscape.
The workshop area was good and we could see the whole shop from where we were up in the gallery.
Ann told us about the other workshops and we are looking to book friendship bracelets and dream catcher making. Although my daughter has said she’d like to do the same acrylic paint workshop again one day. She is so proud of her painting!
