I had an amazing weaving lesson when in London for London Craft Week. I learned not only great weaving techniques in a 2.5 hour lesson, but also learned about the creative philosophy of the SAORI weaving craft! I wove a pillow cover and it is gorgeous! There is a calm about the studio and the teaching style that is very positive for learning and creativity. I LOVED the whole experience and can’t wait to go back for a longer weaving stretch.

Learn to Spin Wool Workshop

I was the only student on the date that I picked so basically had a 1 to 1. The teacher was patient and helped me loads to pick up the basics of spinning. It's quite difficult to coordinate all the motions but I came away with a decent looking hank of hand spun yarn, and even had time at the end to have a go at some weaving. Fantastic place, will definitely be back!

Amazing class. Janine is a brilliant teacher. Very patient and very creative. Her yarn library is extensive and full of incredible colours, textures and shades which you can take your pick from. You leave the class with a beautiful piece of work which can measure as long as you wish it to as it all depends how much you get done within the time frame. Some people make a woven piece of around 80 cms - I managed to make a piece of around 2 metres in length! A really enjoyable experience.

All of the materials are absolutely beautiful as well, and theres a huge variety to choose from. You can stay as long as you want and pay by the hour! What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon! Janine and Steve were lovely teachers and were so helpful and accomodating with my disability (I can only use one hand/side on my body) Was so happy to explore new fabrics and ways to make my cushion even more authentic. The workshop venue is great and in a soothing calming environment with a nice selection of coffees and herbal teas to sip on while you weave. Such a fun workshop! I went with my mum and we both came out so inspired and satisfied with our cushions that we got to take home. Attended an intro to weaving session.

I particularly wanted to try the floor looms as I just have rigid heddle looms at home.

The session gave me a good insight into the potential of this sort of loom.

The instruction and support was pitched just right and I loved the choice of yarn available to experiment with.

This was a fantastic workshop! The location is very convenient to get to. The studio is beautiful with natural light, music, a lot of yarn options and fabulous looms. Janine is a very talented designer, weaver and teacher. It was easy to follow her directions to make a wonderful piece of woven art. I had extra time and Janine worked with me to create an additional piece of art using a special fan reed. You will feel confident how to use the loom and you get to take home a beautiful piece of art.
