Wonderful experience. There as a beginner - given as little or as much help as I needed. Full access to all displayed yarns - gentle chat and music - and fully inclusive. I would go back in a heartbeat.

I had a wonderful time at the spinning wool workshop at Freeweaver Studios. Janine was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging throughout, making the whole experience really enjoyable. The studio itself is beautiful, with lots of natural light and an inspiring collection of amazing Japanese looms. It was a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with great conversation and plenty of opportunities to learn and ask questions. I came away feeling inspired and keen to return for another workshop. Highly recommended!

Bright, airy studio tucked away in the heart of Greenwich. The most amazing wall of wool choices - whatever your heart desires for your project. Gentle instruction, encouragement and a surprisingly quick start to weaving - it’s easy to get going! I did my best to embrace the freestyle weaving philosophy even though I often crave a plan and some symmetry. A very freeing experience and a step away from the every-day. Definitely an addictive craft, I am already pondering my next creation. I really loved this experience, highly recommend!

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon learning a new skill - much easier than expected under expert eye and tutelage of teachers, in a bright studio with a small group of new starters, alongside experienced weavers working on larger projects. Am very happy with my cushion cover and I’ve caught the bug - will go back for more!

It was such a delightful experience to learn how to weave in this japanese looms. The area is bery interesting as well as the stufio. I never have wowen in this kind of looms and i was a bit anxious at first. But the guiding was perfect and soon i found myself on the flow, weaving hapilly. It is something between meditation and creativity feast. Every material or thing you might need is at your disposal. It was great sharing this experience with other people. At the end of the workshop when i saw my final work i was hapilly surprised to see how beautiful my piece was. I recomend this workshop for whoever is reading this lines. This was a lovely experience. Janine and Steve so generous and supportive, guiding me, as a first time weaver, in technique, design and also the safe use of the looms. The studio is light and airy and the equipment beautifully crafted.
And, at the end, I had a cushion to show for my efforts! Wonderful

I enjoyed my first weaving cushion workshop so much a few weeks ago, that I booked and came for a second workshop today! I am very happy with the cushion I made this afternoon. Many thanks Janine for being a really kind and patient teacher, as well as giving me some really helpful tips and advice on the yarns and fabrics that I could use to weave the fabric for my cushion. Freeweaver Studio have just moved to a new studio in Greenwich which was light, airy and felt so relaxed (5 minutes walk from Maze Hill station or a 10 minute walk from Greenwich station). Would totally recommend this workshop to people- switch off for a few hours, learn a new skill and make something beautiful to take home!!

Loved this so so much! It was my first time using a floor loom and Steve made sure everything was set up for me, walked me through the different steps, and was on hand if I had any questions. The other weavers that were there were all very friendly and lovely, as was Erna who helped stitch my finished product up to transform it into a cushion. The studio is beautiful, equipped with any yarn colour you're after - will definitely be returning to Freeweaver Studio to make use of their 'independent weaving session' option!

I had an amazing weaving lesson when in London for London Craft Week. I learned not only great weaving techniques in a 2.5 hour lesson, but also learned about the creative philosophy of the SAORI weaving craft! I wove a pillow cover and it is gorgeous! There is a calm about the studio and the teaching style that is very positive for learning and creativity. I LOVED the whole experience and can’t wait to go back for a longer weaving stretch.

I was the only student on the date that I picked so basically had a 1 to 1. The teacher was patient and helped me loads to pick up the basics of spinning. It's quite difficult to coordinate all the motions but I came away with a decent looking hank of hand spun yarn, and even had time at the end to have a go at some weaving. Fantastic place, will definitely be back!

Amazing class. Janine is a brilliant teacher. Very patient and very creative. Her yarn library is extensive and full of incredible colours, textures and shades which you can take your pick from. You leave the class with a beautiful piece of work which can measure as long as you wish it to as it all depends how much you get done within the time frame. Some people make a woven piece of around 80 cms - I managed to make a piece of around 2 metres in length! A really enjoyable experience.
