Pottery Date Night Workshop

If you're after a date night with a difference, join this fun and messy 1.5-hour wheel throwing pottery workshop, an activity specially designed for groups of two. In this private session, you'll learn the basics of how to throw on the pottery wheel with hands-on tuition from experienced potter, Ruth. She will give you her undivided attention, helping you get to grips with this creative skill.Feel free to bring your own bottle (BYOB) if you'd like a little Dutch courage to help you limber up! The workshop is suitable for all people and all abilities (participants must be aged 18+). All materials, tools, and tea or coffee are provided.During the workshop, you will see a throwing demonstration from Ruth. Then, you'll be free to practise and throw as many pots as you like before the end of the session; most participants typically throw two pots. Once you've picked your favourite pottery piece, Ruth will later trim, glaze, and finish your work of art. You can choose from three studio glazes to complete your masterpiece. The session includes the trimming and firing of one piece per person, and any extra pieces can be processed for a small fee (£10 each).Wheel throwing is a wonderfully messy way to unwind and let go! This workshop offers a fantastic way to spend time together, finishing with your unique pottery and the joy of a thoroughly absorbing experience.If you want to do this workshop but can't see a date that works for you or you have a specific date in mind please send me a message and I will see if I can accommodate you.The £200 workshop fee covers both attendees to come along to the session. Please note:

• This class will be in our first-floor studio space, unfortunately this space is only accessible via stairs. Please get in touch to discuss any access needs.
• Once the session has finished your pieces will need to be left to dry out before going through two separate kiln firings and a layer of shiny glaze. All of this processing will be done by Ruth and will take approx 6 weeks to complete. You will be contacted once your pieces are ready to collect.

• You are able to create and keep one master piece per person!
• Other pots are available to keep for an additional charge. (Pots are collected up to 6 weeks after the session)
