Get creative with clay and make your very own Pot Head Planter! In this fun and beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn the basics of hand-building with clay while creating a unique planter bursting with personality.
Using slab-building techniques, you'll shape and construct a head-shaped planter before bringing your character to life with eyes, ears, noses, glasses, hairstyles, facial expressions, and other decorative details. Whether you create a realistic face, a whimsical character, or something completely quirky, the design is entirely up to you.
The best part? Once your planter is finished, your favourite plant becomes the hair! From wild succulents to flowing trailing plants, your creation will continue to evolve long after the workshop ends.
Our experienced instructor will guide you through every step of the process, making this class perfect for complete beginners as well as those with some clay experience. You'll work with high-quality clay and tools while enjoying a relaxed and creative atmosphere.
Working with clay is not only fun but incredibly therapeutic, offering the perfect opportunity to unwind, switch off from daily life, and enjoy creating something with your own hands.
Once fired, you'll have a one-of-a-kind handmade planter that's guaranteed to be a talking point in your home or a thoughtful gift for someone special. Come along, get your hands messy, and create a character full of personality that will be topped with the most fabulous leafy hairstyle!
Please note that other clay workshops may be taking place at the same time as yours. While participants may be creating different items, all projects use the same slab-building techniques, so everyone will be learning and following the same core pottery-making process.

Crafty Monkey, based in St. Neots, Cambridgeshire, was founded in 2010 after Chrissy Bennett, the owner, attended a pottery painting workshop for her friend's hen party. From a one-man band, it has grown to employ 6 members of staff and is now open 7 days a week with monthly adult evenings, some of which are themed. The studio seats up to 40 people at a push, but you can book in anytime to come in and paint pottery from our extensive range. We have a party area that can comfortably seat 10 (12 people at a push).
We offer a range of things from pottery painting and build-a-bear to baby prints and 3D baby casts. We are able to tailor workshops to specific requests. You can book individual or group bookings with us - anything to suit your crafting needs! Depending on the group size and where it is, we may also be able to come out to you!
