What you'll do
Try out this classic Polaroid technique. The last of 3 workshops run by Camden experimental photographic artist Catriona Grey at the wonderful Old Diorama Arts Centre. Ditch your phone, your computer and your digital camera and come and make an image by hand.You'll get the chance to go out and take pictures using Polaroid cameras provided (or bring your own!) and then try out the emulsion lift process - cutting apart the plastic Polaroid to reveal the soft layer in the middle (the emulsion). To get it onto paper, you need to float it in warm water.This workshop is designed to be mindful. Slow down, concentrate, let go of control and accept the unpredictable.By the end of the workshop, you will have made several small prints that you can either take home or choose to include in a small exhibition at Old Diorama at the end of the course.You will love this if you're into:
- Photography
- Early photographic techniques
- Alternative photography
- Having a new hands-on creative experience.

- If you want to, you can bring your own Polaroid camera, but we will also have some you can use.
