Plein Air Painting Class with Lunch and Wine

Learn to paint outdoors in Hyde Park and fuel your creativity with a picnic.

4.5 hours Class size 1 to 20     label £60 - £80 (£80 per guest when you book for 1+ guests, £60 for 3+ guests)

Learn to paint in London with this creative outdoor painting class and enjoy a small picnic and a refreshing glass of wine as you make your own masterpieces.

Soak up the sights and sounds of a British summer as you learn to paint in the orchard and gardens of one of the most iconic and inspirational outdoor spaces in London – Hyde Park. Everyone is welcome, from beginner painters to more experienced art lovers. You'll be guided through the creative process by international artist and teacher, Katerina.

This London painting class will begin with Katerina giving a brief talk about outdoor painting, followed by a painting demonstration. You'll then find your own space to paint whilst Katerina circulates throughout your group, offering one-to-one support, help and guidance.

You can choose to paint in the medium of your choice – oil, watercolours, pastels or another type of painting – just let your teacher know your preferred medium.

Working in an intimate part of the park, you'll create a series of plein air sketches that simplify the varied and complex views around you. Distilling your subjects through mark-making and colour, you'll capture your experience of the day and create a unique set of paintings to cherish.

You'll meet your teacher and fellow painters by the dolphin and a boy fountain for an initial briefing and you'll then walk to your painting location together where you'll find easels and a picnic set up for you. Enjoy the fresh air and let your surroundings inspire you to create something wonderful.

By the end of your plein air painting experience, you'll have a range of new art skills and you'll head home with a series of your own paintings, created in a medium of your choice, to keep.

Friendly, knowledgeable tutor and great art materials. The venue was very easy to get to and close to the tube station.

Katerina was really friendly and had some great tips on how to start painting and what to think about when you are contemplating a painting. There were only 2 of us in the class which was great but I could have done with her checking in on us and giving us tips throughout the painting process, I think then we could have incorporated improvements into our paintings rather than reflecting on what could have been different at the end. Also, the picnic isn't much so I wouldn't turn up hungry.
Overall good session and has helped me build confidence to paint more in the future.

Recently went for a hen do and absolutely loved it! Originally we were set to have the class outdoors but due to bad weather conditions our teacher offered us to paint at her studio. She was very accommodating and provided all the materials we needed. Loved the class and can’t wait to do it again!

It’s was chaotic to organise and settle on a date.
The lunch provided was not as expected (Sainsbury’s meal deal)
There was no choice in the size of painting.
She is a good teacher and would like to do it again at a different price range.
The end result was worth the experience - see attached.
