If you're looking for a new knitting project to get into over the Christmas break, come along to this class in Strand and learn to knit a Nordic snowflake pattern using Fair Isle knitting.
Fair Isle knitting is a knitting technique used to create pictures or images within your work using different colours (this is also known as “stranded colour work knitting”). In this workshop you will learn two-colour fair isle and how to knit a traditional snowflake design as you make a cute little sachet. Fill with some lavender for a lovely fragranced item or just hang it somewhere in your home for a Nordic touch.
The Nordic snowflake is a very popular design to knit in fair isle and is ideal for the spirit of the season. You'll enjoy step-by-step tuition from your talented teacher, who'll show you the fundamentals of the technique, as well as how to read patterns so you can continue in future projects.

I’m Jane and I am 100% passionate about crafting – you name it, I have most probably tried it. I set up Tea and Crafting, a bricks and mortar workshop venue in Covent Garden, in 2009, as I wanted to share my love of all things crafty and show people how, that a lot of these crafts are easier to learn than you think, without the need to commit to a six-week course that can be difficult to fit into a busy lifestyle. I wanted to provide affordable classes that were effortless and fun to attend.
I believe that anyone and everyone can craft and that you don't need to be exceptional at a craft for it to have enormous positive effects on well being. Alongside a team of expert crafters I am proud to still be passing on these crafty skills 12 years later!
