1.5 hours Class size 1 to 50     label £60 - £70 (£60 for Public class, £70 for Private class)

If you're a dim sum or dumpling fan but have yet to attempt to make these Asian delicacies at home, this is the virtual cooking class for you!

This beginner-friendly online class will teach you step-by-step how to make the perfect dumplings and wontons in the comfort of your kitchen.

With the help and guidance of your friendly teacher, you'll learn everything from preparing the fillings to wrapping, cooking and eating your dumplings and wontons.

Your lesson will kick start with a quick introduction where you will discover some dumpling trivia from the history of dumpling making to some modern-day trends.

During this dumpling making class you'll learn how to:

  • Make dough from wheat flour.
  • Prepare pork mince and seasonal vegetables.
  • Wrap your dumplings and fold your wontons.
  • Boiling and fry your creations.

At the end of this cooking class online, you will be able to eat the delicious homecooked dumplings and wontons you've made. You'll also have the skills and confidence you need to make even more on your own in future.

  • We don't design kit for this class. Because we can only post plain flour. It is widely available in any shops. Fresh ingredients wrapped in dumplings are not allowed in post. You can prepare anything you like from meat to vegetables. So to save the environment, shop local and prepare plain flour and any meat or vegetables you like.

  • You can find dumpling pastry and Wonton pastry from Asian stores. Usually frozen, need a few hours to defrost before use.

  • You can make your own dumpling/wonton pastry from plain flour. We will teach you in the class.

  • Buy a rolling pin if you want to make pastry yourself. If you use frozen pastry, rolling pin is not needed.

  • Ticket is per person not per household. Every guest need one ticket for each even from same location.

We are a wife-and-husband team running a small shop called Oriental Food in North London. Our little shop sells cooking ingredients from China, Japan and Korea – as well as other Asian countries!

As the shop is not big enough to be a one-stop shopping destination, we like to curate the food and ingredients we sell and focus on introducing only the ingredients we love to the local community.

As we both have a passion for cooking and sharing our love of food with others, we started to cook our own dishes to sell in our shop. If customers like the dish, we love showing them the ingredients that have been used from our shop!

As the dishes got increasingly popular, we started to sell freshly prepared Bentos and even started doing local delivery (find us on UberEats and Deliveroo).

More and more people came to us to ask how we cook our dishes and that's how our fun and friendly cooking classes and tasting experiences were born! Come along and let us share with you our authentic cooking techniques as well as modern culinary trends. That's right, you can make the perfect Chinese, Japanese and Korean food too!

Simon and Hanna were just excellent. We couldn’t make the in person class so they arranged it all for an online session for us. They are a wonderful couple and brilliant teachers. We will be back again for sure!

Absolutely amazing! Simon and Hannah are so welcoming, friendly, and cooked four amazing dishes along with us. Will definitely be cooking these dishes again in the future. We did the online class, which was immersive and fun. We hope to get the chance to do anoher course with them in the future as well. Highly recommended!
