Making crepe paper flowers is one of the most relaxing and mindful craft ideas you can try at home!

Led by fabulous instructor Dear, you will learn how to make a crepe paper flowers version of the Australian native Banksia flower. It has taken Dear many hours of flower observation, to design and replicate the intricate details of the Banksia flower with paper. And you'll learn all of the steps over some easy-to-follow video tutorials.

Those of you with a keen eye will notice that there’s nothing quite like this commercially because of the high level of detail and delicacy that doesn't translate well into mass-manufacture.

So you can be assured your labour of love will enjoy the, intended, stand-out originality that's signature of our Australian Native Series.

Dear Songsuwan

Dear Songsuwan is our resident artist and the secret sauce behind many of Kami Paper's gorgeous window displays in Melbourne. She's also the creator of many of our signature art pieces and paper models. If it's something especially unique you've seen at the Kami Paper store, it's probably a brain child of Dear.

Dear has a long standing background in the arts, and not just because she's did Visual Arts at RMIT, and completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts Drawing at Victorian College of the Arts - focused on paper cutting, ink drawing and paper installations, she's got genuine love for paper crafting and the discerning eye to back it up.

Her quiet demeanor hides a passion for all things creative as well as a desire to challenge herself with new skills to expand her creative repertoire.

Paper has always had an intimate relationship with people. For those who enjoy this medium, Kami is a treasure trove full of exquisite paper, hand-bound albums, journals, notebooks, unique gift cards, and fine Italian stationery sourced from around the world.

No matter how much we love our phones, social media, internet, and the various conveniences of modern life, we always get excited about books and paper for the varying texture, rustle, crispness and smell. The written word, whether our own or someone else's, expressed in personal or professional affairs, creates a sensory experience, especially when on beautiful papers.

We want to share with you the joy of fine paper and excellence in book binding - both to wholesalers who are seeking the rare and unique, and to our retail customers via our concept store Kami in Brunswick Street, Melbourne and from our online store.
