6 hours Class size 1 to 8     label £260

If you want to start out your clay journey immediately, this intensive full-day London pottery workshop is for you. Try wheel throwing, coil and slab hand building, slip casting and decorating all in one class! You'll create some beautiful handmade ceramics to take home.

At this full-day workshop, you will learn everything offered through this teacher's 6-week course. It's a compact way to gain a wealth of pottery skills in a single day experience.

This ceramics workshop will give you the opportunity to learn a variety of pottery-making techniques, allowing you to develop your skills in hand-building with clay and decorating.

During your pottery class, you'll cover:

  • Coil hand building.
  • Slab hand building.
  • Throwing on the wheel.
  • Decorating with coloured clay slip.
  • An introduction to slip casting in plaster moulds.

You are encouraged to come to this workshop with ideas and small projects you would like to develop throughout your session. Alternatively, your teacher can make suggestions for you! Your tutor will guide and support you with demonstrations of each technique and one-to-one guidance throughout your class.

By the end of your pottery class, you will have a beautiful collection of ceramics that your teacher will fire and (transparent) glaze for you. This takes 3-4 weeks. After this, your items will be ready to collect from your teachers' studio or they can deliver them (UK only) to you at an added cost.

Bring your ideas and your clay-based enthusiasm and get ready to make some pottery!
