What you'll do
Hungry for Chinese DimSum? Looking for fun things to do in London? Then dive into this DimSum class and learn about the delicious dish of Siu Mai.
Travel back through time, thousands of years ago, as you learn how Siu Mai was created. Explore its journey from traditional dish to modern dining and how different areas of China have their own ways of making it. Your expert chef guides Simon and Hanna will tell you the interesting history and answer all your questions.
You will find yourself in a small class and spacious shop with air conditioner. Often gets private class in weekdays.
You will get to dive into the dough as you learn to make the popular DimSum, Siu Mai, from scratch.
In this cooking class, you will:
- Prepare dough from flour.
- Prepare filling from raw meat and prawns. (Vegan version is possbile)
- Make the pastry from the dough.
- Filling and wrapping Siu Mai.
- Cook and taste.
Looking for a fun group activity? This tasty workshop is perfect for your birthday party, team-building event or just for some fun. Or you can come on your own and enjoy some Chinese cuisine and culture. Weekdays are much quieter and you will probably even have a private class, giving you the full attention of your chef tutors.
Add-on Class
- All Add-ons are in the same class. It is to save your time and make the class more fun. Please allow extra time, 30 minutes to 1 hour. You can always contact us before booking to find out more details.
- Why not add another DimSum in the same class to expand your knowledge of Asian treats? You will find it is a lot cheaper to select an add-on class rather than booking them separately.
- Strong recommend the Advanced DimSum. See the photo of pink flower DimSum.
- Surely you could add some drinks to make the class more fun.
- You can also learn how to sharpen your kitchen knives. Bring one in if safe to do so.
Allergy Information
- Gluten in pastry
- Egg in pastry
- Crustacean in filling (can choose alternative vegan version)
- Soy sauce and sesame oil for taste and flavour in filling. Can be replaced if required.
Also, please note, that the traditional filling is a pork and prawn mix. There is a vegan option so please inform us of any dietary restrictions when you book.
This class can be held online as well as at client site. Please send a message to the teacher to discuss the details.
Notice
- Please do not bring your own drinks or food to the class.
- This class does not suitable for pregnant women as the workload and the length of class.
Refund and Reschedule
Please book the date you definitely can attend to help other customers' bookings.
- There is no refund for cancellation.
- Later than 15 minutes to agreed time will see booking cancelled with no refund or reschedule.
- Possibility of Reschedule is very limited and will be charged £50 per booking.

Knowledge required
- Beginners are welcome. Vegan version is available.
- Children over 14 are welcome as long as with paid adults. Every one requires a ticket. Children are learning better when parents participate.
- A person under 18 cannot attend the class alone. We will ask for valid IDs if you look very young. You class will be cancelled without refund if failed to provide proofs. It is for your safety and required by insurance policy. If we don't follow it, this class will not be allowed to carry on. Thank you for your understanding.
