Great, enthusiastic teachers. The session was a good length to get everything done in and the tea and coffee making facilities were a nice extra. I liked paying less for the class and then having the option to pay for the kit to take home if you wanted. This made it more financially accessible.

Fantastic class! My friend and I are doing a different creative activity per month and this has been my favourite one yet!
The teacher was lovely and gave us lots of great information, and there were so many materials to choose from.
Glass of wine was a lovely touch as well, and it’s great that the costs go back in to the community, can’t wait to go back!

Surina Chibber Mar 2024

Great class, the venue is lovely. I learnt a lot, relaxed pace and friendly teachers. Would recommend

Anna Francis-Garner Mar 2024

We did this class for a friend's birthday and it was such a good afternoon. The class teachers made everyone feel welcome and took us through each step. The pots we produced are so lovely and I will treasure it.

Teacher's response

Hi. Thank you for the review and we have taken the comments on board which helps us for future sessions. We hope you enjoyed it otherwise and hope you will consider us in the future.

Mary-Anne Mar 2024

Was a surprise event organised by my daughters for Mother’s Day. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
The teacher showed us techniques and guided us to make our mosaic mirrors

Dr May Myanmar Mar 2024

Excellent gift idea if wanting to do something more creative! Really enjoyed the class where we made mosaic mirrors. I only wish we had time to have some of the snacks as we were too focused on trying to finish the pieces. Depending on the idea for your mosaic piece you should factor in time for executing it as I think a few of us were focused alot of detail and trying to make our pieced look great but then realised we did not have that long left to finish then it was a scramble to try and complete them but we got there in the end and our teacher was very patient with us. 100% would recommend this class and any others on offer with Art4Space.

Rebecca Welsh Mar 2024

An amazing class! Perfect for Mother’s Day - we all loved it

Snacks and drinks were supplied, relaxing music - good vibes all around :)

Naomi Beevers Mar 2024

We had a great time at the Kintsugi class. The teacher was welcoming and inspiring.
Everything we needed was provided (although I did take along a couple of my own broken ceramics), including refreshments. Wine, tea and biscuits. What’s not to like!
The venue was easy to find, well equipped and conveniently located for the tube.
The instructions were clear and we all managed to complete at least one piece without feeling rushed.
We were celebrating a big birthday and we will have lovely memories and also our mended ceramics which we will treasure.

Nettie was an amazing teacher. Her teaching style and encouragement was brilliant!
Will definitely sign up for more classes.

Venue good and accessible. Near to
public transport.

Small group which meant we could all have 1-1 support as needed.

It’s a charitable organisation- giving back to the community

Robyn Ranu Mar 2024

Excellent teacher, really helpful and knew exactly how to help us progress in a very relaxing way

Marina Mikhaylova Mar 2024

It not enought time for second piece. I felt under pressure when teaacher was reminding about time quiet often in last hour.

Attended this workshop with my partner on a Sunday afternoon.
Lovely venue, in a large studio, all tools provided as well as the cockery for you to break and reassemble.
Lot of drinks and snacks offered by the teacher.
Really lovely atmosphere overall, high recommend

Anonymised ClassBento student Feb 2024

John was great at leading the class! He was only meant to assist someone else, but did but a great job on his own.

He taught us about the art of kintsugi and explained/demonstrated each step clearly.

I was able to get two pieces done; one provided by the workshop and another for a broken glass I brought with me.

Naomi Curniffe Feb 2024

John was a great teacher and gave us a few extra minutes so we could finish our projects

Louise Pasquill Feb 2024

This workshop was amazing. Really fantastic resources, books, online, print-outs, tile collection. The most hospitable tutor, John, very knowlegable and helpful, super experienced in art & design & textiles, walked us through the whole process of designing, drawing and painting our designs onto our tiles. The studio is an oasis of creative calm. Spacious comfortable, only 5 mins walk from tube. Refreshments included. Highly recommend for a solo, couple or group evening activity!

My friends and I had such a great time at our hand building pottery class! It was a lovely, relaxed environment and our teacher was excellent at explaining the different techniques and great at helping each person achieve their vision for their pottery pieces. The art studio itself was a great space, and our teacher invited us to help ourselves to tea, coffee, wine, beer, fruit and biscuits - all included in the cost of the class. The fact that your pottery gets glazed for you and sent by post is even better - it's so easy to receive your pottery when it's ready!

Max Arkell Jan 2024

Great course! Our teacher was really knowledgeable and very patient with all of us. really great explanation of the process and history of the techniques. Perfect gift for my Mum who loved it as well!

Carlos Gonzalez-Martos Jan 2024

Great experience! Very engaging teacher, good tools provided, comfy facilities (and particularly convenient for me). And all this for a reasonable price that gets reinvested in a charity that works with local children.
Each of us got to fix a piece of ceramic (some even two!). I would recommend to bring your own piece, even better if it is a piece with some history.

Julie & Jan 2024

John was a great instructor. Funny, approachable and clear about how we should best approach our tasks.
The venue was spacious and very well equipped and even with 17 eager students John was able to get round to all of us and answer all our questions.
On top of that the refreshments provided were amazing and John managed all of that without being rushed or flustered.

Evelyn Jan 2024

John was fantastic, friendly and helpful. Showed us what we needed to do, gave us suggestions on what to do. Amazing colors of tiles to choices. We had a brilliant evening there. Would definitely recommend it.

Amalia Jan 2024

What was the teacher like? The teacher was kind, patient, and clearly passionate about his craft. He always checked in with us and helped us when we needed a hand. He offered to teaching more specific techniques if we needed them for our art piece.

How was the venue (if applicable)? the venue was lovely, really inviting and colourful and had a large table which made it easier to socialise with people. It was cosy and warm inside and they offered tea, coffee, biscuits and fruit.

If materials were provided, did you like them? everything we needed to make our mosaics was provided. They had a HUGE selection of ceramic and glass tiles.

Was the experience good value for money? yes definitely!

Fiona Blades Jan 2024

Our teacher was amazing - so patient and clear in helping us through each stage of the process. At the end we have beautiful bowls but we also bonded as a team (coming together for the first time) and were able to take many of the elements of kintsugi into the strategy day we were running the next day. The drinks and snacks were a lovely touch. Thank you!

The teacher (?John - a Scottish guy) was so friendly and welcoming. My nearly 12yr old really enjoyed learning to make the 3 different pottery objects and if she had any questions he was more than willing to help. Loved and appreciated the tea and treats that were offered. Venue had parking on the street and instructions were clear on where to find it. Art studio was warm and had clean toilets. Would highly recommend.

A wonderful evening spent learning the art of kintsugi, which was a birthday treat from my son. The venue (in Clapham) was an inspirational place to be; the other 11 classmates and I were made to feel welcomed and relaxed by the tutors and I left with two 'kintsugi'd' bowls and a peaceful mind.

Adam Connors Dec 2023

A lovely, warm introduction to Kintsugi, mince-pies, mulled wine, and cake on arrival, lovely, peaceful artsy space in which to Kintsugi our broken bowls I was an absolutely perfect event for my team.

The venue was good - not cold, considering how cold it was outside and I appreciated the sign outside.

John and his assistant were super patient, clear in directions and helped us all to achieve the goal of the session = to create a Kintsugi piece! The drinks were good and loved the music in the background.

The pieces to select from were diverse and beautiful! The time also seemed long but with the gluing process sometimes being a pain, it was just enough time for two pieces! I would definitely recommend!

Great & knowledgeable teacher, huge range of supplies and lovely studio - overall a fantastic evening celebrating my friends birthday!

Yani King Oct 2023

A very relaxed and friendly session!

I get a little anxious trying new things and going to new places by myself. The venue is really easy to find on maps and there is a clear sign out front.

The teacher, John, created a calming environment where you felt comfortable to ask questions and let your creativity take you. John went at an easy pace where the steps were clearly broken down and you were learning together. You have the opportunity to make two pieces, the first where you are learning together, and the second to put learning into practice.

The session provides you with everything you will need, including snacks and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). You can also purchase a kit after the class with the tools, so you can carry on at home.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed myself and can't wait to put my new skills to practice at home. Thank you

The experience was a lot of fun, our teachers were very helpful and the atmosphere great. The glue was uncooperative but that's life. It was a very pleasant experience and I'd highly recommend it to groups, pairs and solo individuals, no prior knowledge of anything creative required. It's a moment away from the noise of life and the doing really focuses you on the action in front of you and nothing else.

It definitely brought out my patient side as I had to concentrate to ensure my ceramic and glass pieces were in the right place. Loved it and would definitely be doing this again!

Sofi Tilahun Jul 2023

The workshop was so well delivered, with a good balance of instruction and plenty of time to get stuck in and work it out! It's also lovely to discover new creative and community-centred spaces in South, highly recommend.

Had a really great time and didn't even realize that the company actually use these classes to fund kids program in the day time. Amazing! Material provided were great and the teacher was patient and funny. There was also wine served and there were snacks but we were too busy trying to maximize our time with the art itself. Would thoroughly recommend

Natty was outstanding - the way she welcomed all participants was professional and made us feel comfortable with what we were going to do. She was knowledgable, patient and super supportive - a real asset to Art fit Space - I would recommend this workshop especially if Natty is leading it - Brilliant 5 star Teacher

100% worth it! Teacher was really lovely and directed us when we needed help but allowed us to do our own thing as well. The venue was a really lovely space with material all provided. The materials ranging from ceramic and glass pieces were absolutely gorgeous. Everyone, regardless of creative ability, really enjoyed doing it. Would definitely come back again! I haven’t grouted my mastication tiles yet, but here is an example of what I made.

The class was a wonderful taster session, we learnt lots in the time and had fun exploring a number of different pottery making techniques. The teacher was lovely and we all had a blast. Perfect hen do activity! Would definitely come back again!

Such a memorable and wholesome experience! Our teacher, John, was really friendly, positive, and great at tailoring the class to the group's pace, taking us through each of the 3 hand-pottery techniques step-by-step. The studio was well-equipped, light, breezy, and surrounded by an adorable community garden, with plenty of inspiration from books and the art on the walls. We each also got to keep 3 of the pieces we made after having them glazed for us, which is pretty amazing value for money, especially considering the central location. Thank you ClassBento and John for helping us celebrate my sister's bachelorette party! I can't recommend this highly enough to others and can't wait for the next birthday/excuse to try one of their other craft classes :)

Margaret Elmer Jun 2023

The teachers were wonderful - knowledgeable, attentive, kind and able to skilfully demonstrate for even the slowest learner (me). The venue - cool, inspiring creativity and calm. Excellent value. And now I know that it supports local artists and donates to mental health charities, even more so… I totally recommend this class!

Noble Fox May 2023

Wonderful session. Good teachers who were very helpful. Workshop is set on lovely grounds and easy to find. Nice refreshments and well laid out workshop. To be fair the only reason they got four stars instead of five just on the cost for 10 people, it would have been nice to have a slightly cheaper price for a big group booking. Besides that there was nothing to fault. It’s a gods first date idea or family activity or even just for yourself if you need a little me time. Highly recommend it. Thank you guys and keep up the good work.

Maria Bren Apr 2023

The teacher was lovely!
The venue was wonderful, and the hospitality (thee, coffee, wine) was great. The little dishes we broke and repaired were lovely too. The instructions re the ‘how to‘ were good though could be tweaked a bit as most of us ended up with slightly messy results… however, the teacher was interested to hear from participants about what they had seen on YouTube re techniques and try these out herself there and then with great results … Altogether I much enjoyed the evening and have worked some more on my gold line repairs at home my little dishes look beautiful now!

The venue is great and the teachers are welcoming and engaged. But also professional and everything (tools, materials etc) for the class was organised thoughtfully. There are generous and delicious refreshments too and all that made the class feel relaxed. The Kintsugi lesson was interesting and fun and there was the opportunity to make several different pieces. Really enjoyable

If it was prepped a bit more beforehand it would have been great. Lovely Teachers. Just needed more information and for them to have a deeper understanding of the workshop

Teacher's response

Thanks Craig – it means a lot to us that you have taken the time to leave a review. We will learn from the glue and application process for next time. Gemma and I have taken this on board. Enjoy your pots and take care.

John was such a warming and gentle teacher. We found the softness and clarity of his explanations and demonstrations so grounding and gave us so much encouragement and support to feel creative in the space together. It was such a joy and comfort to see John’s mosaic and print making skills, we couldn’t recommend coming along to his class more! We’ll be seeing him again at the LGBTQ+ centre ahead for some extra mosaic time. Thanks John ❤️

This class was great! The teacher was lovely and really helpful. He provided us with all the tools required and helped whenever we requested it. All materials were provided and you were able to create whatever you wanted within the allocated time which was so nice! The venue was beautiful with inspiration all across the walls and snacks and drinks provided. We learned basic skills to start the process and then we were given time to draw our concepts and create our masterpieces.

I’ve attached a photo of what we created before the grout. I’d definitely do this class again!

Anushka Somia Jul 2022

Teacher was brilliant and gave everyone individual time. The studio was a gem tucked away in the heart of Stockewell. Lots of mosaic tiles to chose from. Loved the evening and can’t wait to book in again

Christina Katsantoni Jul 2022

The teacher was really welcoming, experienced and kind - immediately felt comfortable even though I arrived slightly late by a few minutes.
The venue is beautiful and well kept and the materials provided were more than enough - the takeaway gift was a nice touch.
The one thing I have a comment on is that I’d like a tad bit more guidance on what I was making - it was my first attempt in mosaic and it wasn’t looking great while the other 3 participants got a bit more attention and I wonder if it was because their works were much better/interesting artistically. I think the overall experience was good but definitely it is more enjoyable if you go with a friend rather than alone.

We had a really fun evening, it was lovely to focus on something creative after a days work - with tea, wine and biscuits! Can’t wait to get my mosaic home and finish it off. They also do some awesome community work so was happy that the fee goes to supporting that too. Try it for yourself!
