Explore your creative side and learn new techniques with this rare and fun experience.

Learn from a local artist, who'll teach you how to paint using traditional materials in unique styles to capture some stunning imagery. You'll learn all about Japanese art movements like Ukiyo-e and Rinpa and you'll be painting onto either Rice Paper Boards, Rice Paper fans or Silk Fans. Feel free to pop us a message if you have a request.

This painting class is suitable for beginners as well as those with a little more artistic experience, so don't worry if it's your first time. Your teacher will be on hand to provide guidance and answer any questions you may have as you get busy creating your marvellous masterpiece.

Sumi ink, Gansai Tambi 顔彩耽美 (Traditional Japanese colours), gold leaves, rice paper board or fan.

  • Comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little paint on.
  • A carrying bag for take your artworks home.

​Classes are guided by Ula, a local artist with a bachelor degree in fine art and a masters in visual art. She has over 15 years of teaching experience.
